Situated in Southern Mexico, southeast of Mexico City, Quinta Real Oaxaca; exudes classic beauty and rich colonial history. Part of the LVX collection of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, this former convent of Santa Catalina was built in 1576 and has been meticulously restored to its early Spanish Baroque splendor. You'll travel back in time as you stroll its tiled corridors adorned with original frescoes. Opening onto flower-filled gardens and the picturesque streets of Oaxaca, the bedrooms and suites showcase the simple elegance and tranquil spirit of this ancient sanctuary.

I greatly enjoyed the beauty and quite of this restored monastery. the thick stone walls assure the quite of every room. But there is nothing cold about the attentiveness of the staff and the welcoming attitude of everyone we met. the location is also very good, close the grand church and the livley commercial district. I can't wait to return to Quinta Real.

The Quinta Real was a perfect choice for our trip to Oaxaca. We wanted a hotel that was central and easy walking distance to the local mercados, restaurants, churches and shops and this was perfect. The property was a quiet oasis in a busy city. It's historic charm and architectural features were only surpassed by the comfort and quality of the accommodation, service and excellent breakfasts! Thank you to Miguel at the reception desk for his warm welcome and our cultural exchange which included a few helpful enhancements to our Spanish language skills!

The Quinta Real Oaxaca is a gem in the heart of this beautiful town, with rich history it has the most beautiful installations. We traveled with our 3 year old and 1 year old, the hotel had all the amenities we needed to keep the boys entertained and it was conveniently located near all the historic sites we wanted to visit.

Beautiful historical hotel. A convent converted to hotel. Because it is historical, they do not have elevator and the first set of stairs are very deep. Keep that in mind after a long day walking around the city. It is centrally located, we didn’t need to rent a car, mostly everything within walking distance. Rooms are also historical, don’t expect anything modern, but very clean, great service! We only ordered one drink from the bar, it was wonderful. I totally recommend this hotel.
