Favorite Botique Hotel in all of San Diego and I have been to plenty of them!

This hotel is absolutely amazing. Location, location, location for starters. The hotel is so beautifully decorated and has such a nice feel to it. The beds are super comfy and honestly I don't think there is a room at this hotel that doesn't stare at the beach. The customer service is also top notch. I don't want too many to hear about this hotel so it doesn't get difficult to book - but it lives up to its name and reputation so I will reluctantly give it props. They take care of their World of Hyatt members like nobody's business. The whole vibe there is just "cool".

Best hotel experience

If you’re trying to decide, stop and just book it! This is now my second time in two months. First time was with my husband and I booked a solo trip as soon as I returned. We booked through Amex both times so got the breakfast and $125 spend. Bedding is top notch, bath products are great and the views from the rooms are to die for! This trip, I got upgraded to Ocean Front which was the best gift for my birthday (they didn’t even know it was my birthday). Waking up to the views of the beach/ ocean is my dream! We’ve already booked another trip at their sister hotel next door for next month, this time with my husband and 3 year old son. We will be returning many times! Food wise: I had dinner at the rooftop bar, ordered the octopus, whipped feta and the virgin pina colada. Best dinner ever!

The most wonderful beachside hotel

WOW we were so surprised by this hotel we loved every bit of this hotel. From the location infront of the beach and pier (a ramp leading down to the beach with a playground for kids on the beach), the gorgeous hotel with the top gun house as a fun little tidbit, friendly and accommodating wonderful staff, a stunning oceanfront room that was perfect size for us with our toddler, and the best - the rooftop bar! Gorgeous bar and views and excellent drinks. Also a big perk is the sister hotel shorebird which you also have access to their amenities. They’re more family friendly so it was nice going to that property across the street the next day and on Saturday night was a family movie night that our toddler loved! Couldn’t recommend this hotel more truly loved it it’s perfect!

Totally 5-Stars!

Travel and Leisure has recognized this hotel as the 11th best hotel on the planet! While my wife and I will leave it to others decide their thoughts on this ranking, our short stay was nothing but terrific! I always start my reviews with things that could be improved or fixed. Only a few here. First, I'd have loved to have gotten a room with a bathtub, but didn't (probably my fault for not specifically requesting this). Secondly, neither my wife nor I cared for the sparse water pressure coming out of the bathroom sinks....they use water-saving faucets that just weren't our favorite. Finally, it's pricey...know this going in. However, I want to be clear....WE LOVED THIS HOTEL! Here's a list of some of the many things we adored: -complimentary glass of wine at check-in....yes, please! -SUPER comfortable beds. -great food at Piper's for breakfast and lunch. -Rooftop Bar has amazing views and comfy furniture (and lots of heat lamps) -gorgeous view from our balcony -unusual, contemporary decor in rooms that felt distinctive and elegant -LIGHTING in the rooms is unparalleled...creative, romantic and functional -very pleasant and helpful staff at front desk and valet parking -loads of security roaming the grounds and giving a feeling of safety -secure elevators that require a room key to work (great security feature!) -VERY attentive and accommodating at restaurants for my wife's celiac dietary needs The hotel is actually TWO hotels, that sit on opposite sides of the same street. Mission Pacific and Seabird. We immediately noticed that Seabird is just as beautiful, but is FAR MORE geared to families with children, while Mission Pacific seems more geared to couples on a romantic getaway or business travelers that seek quiet and calm. The two hotels largely operate as one, with dual charging privileges for guests. Location-wise, it's perfect for a beach stay in Oceanside! The gigantic pier is about 100 yards away, and the hotel has exquisite views and furnishings from virtually every imaginable angle. We WILL be back when we can afford another special weekend. 5-stars ALL THE WAY, and a huge thank-you to the staff for giving us a great stay!
