This is described as an Experience Hotel and that is a good description. Everywhere you go there are artworks and imaginative furnishings, so the place is full of colour. The hotel boasts an extensive breakfast on the terrace with a view of the mountains. I loved the restaurant with its large menu, from which one can pick and choose at one’s discretion. The room was a good size – really one and a half rooms, on level 1 of the main building. The shower was a quirky and barely manageable. The bed has plenty of character – almost a four poster! There is a coffee machine in the room. There is only a 48 hour laundry service available. I was frustrated by this quirky Italian thing of having two entirely different type of electrical sockets. The wi-fi unfortunately was erratic and quite weak in our room. Despite all the wonderful features of this hotel, I hesitate to give it a high score because it is not disability-friendly. There is no lift. As it is on a hillside, it has many levels and lots of steps or stairs. However it lacks handrails. And there are too many cobblestones to negotiate outside (but within the grounds of the hotel.) Most of these problems could be easily and cheaply remedied. I notice these complaints go back years with no sign of rectification. Maybe Italy doesn’t have disability discrimination legislation. Perhaps the owner does not wish to spoil the ambience?

Start with meeting the wonderful people , the Nona, the Mother and the beautiful granddaughter, Camilla, our first dinner we were guided by Camilla in ordering a regions very good wine. Raviolis to die for…I can’t believe I ate them all. All the food was delicious but the ravioli and the pan a cotta with berries were the best I’ve ever had! Now to the most important part, our suite! We had the artists suite which was charming. But wait, after you walk the length of the suite you come to a completely private fenced in area with a private pool , hammock and nice outdoor furniture. The view is spectacular! We have been to all 7 continents but this is one of the top 3 most lovely resorts! I forgot to say that there is a bed outside by the pool if you like to sleep outdoors! High sot of our trip. Highly recommend to any traveler.

We have never stayed at such a special, welcoming, elegant hotel. It is an artistic masterpiece and a loving museum of the family who built it. Su Gologone offers the very best of Sardinian culture and cuisine. It is walking distance to amazing natural springs (& 17th century church) and surrounded by the mystical limestone Supramonte mountains. But the people are at the heart of this hotel. Special thanks to Christian who kindly helped understand so much about this magical place. Also Pietro, the best restaurant host who looked after our needs every night. We will never forget this experience or it's people.

We had a really lovely stay for 3 nights at Su Gologone, which, as stated is an ‘experience hotel’. Beautifully appointed, and laid out, it is a visual feast and the staff are incredibly accommodating (for the most part - one or two slightly grumpy waitresses apart!). We had a room in the main block off the courtyard behind reception which was lovely and comfortable. Nice bed and good quality bathroom. Only slight downside was that there was no hook to hold the shower head so it could only be used by hand. Terrace to room was nice and private - we could not however use the outside bath which was quite a feature as it had no running water! Breakfasts and evening meals were excellent, especially the evening meals, which featured a daily antipasto, some sumptuous pasta courses (primi) and lovely meat with side dishes. The restaurant terrace is very pleasant and on one evening, when we had to eat inside due to inclement weather, it had a lovely vibe with the meat being barbecued in a huge open fireplace. I really wanted to give this 5 out of 5 as it deserved it in many ways. The only real reason I did not do so was because on the second day we came down to breakfast to see the swimming pool (below the restaurant terrace) empty of all its water and there had clearly been some form of leak or failure of some unknown description. By the time we left, this was still under repair so we were only able to use the pool the day we arrived, which was a real shame. I appreciate these things happen but the hotel did not communicate this to us at all and there were no notices displayed at reception explaining the problem or expressing regret. I would also say that the sun beds by the pool would be all but impossible for anyone elderly to use as they are so low to the ground. The whole pool area definitively needs more thought and a revamp (as well as water in the pool!). Minor gripes as we really enjoyed it and would return.

My girlfriend and I had an unforgettable experience at Su Gologone. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like valued guests, with their warm and attentive service truly standing out. The food was a highlight of our stay. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the restaurant, where the menu offered a wide array of Sardinian flavors. Each dish was crafted with care, showcasing the region's rich culinary traditions. The complimentary breakfast was equally impressive, featuring fresh, local ingredients and a variety of options. The amenities were top-tier, ensuring we had everything we needed for a relaxing and luxurious stay. The beauty of the surroundings added to the magic of our time there, making it the perfect romantic getaway. We can't wait to return and experience Su Gologone's charm again. Highly recommended!.
