Our Omaha roots run deep at Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel, and in capturing the spirit of the city we call home, we look to our rich heritage to inspire our fresh approach to modern hospitality with a hearty dose of Midwestern charm. Take one look at our revitalized 1920’s landmark building, an elegant icon of Second Renaissance Revival architecture, and you can sense there are more than a few stories worth discovering inside.

My 6 y/o son and I were so excited to come to this hotel. It was the main reason we booked this vacation. The pool looked absolutely outstanding, and we built our vacation weekend around pool time. The pool lived up to its hype! It was big, exciting, and had multiple areas to hang out in. A lot of active clientele around - mostly 40s-50s and bachelorette parties; very few kids. We stayed out there for about four hours in the middle of the day. He never got bored with playing there, and I didn’t get bored of people watching, and reading in the pool chairs in the water. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, and we loved how old it felt. They didn’t hold back with leaning into that vibe. For example, one of our favorite display pieces hanging in the hotel was an old menu from way back when! The bedroom was super comfortable, and the bathroom, big and clean. They had left out a welcome amenity given my relationship with IHG, and my son (and I) was so excited to arrive at 10:30 at night to milk and cookies in his room! His pull out bed and my actual bed were both comfortable. The hotel breakfast was included due to my status, and we enjoyed it both mornings down in the restaurant. We did not get the fancy steakhouse because it wasn’t the right fit for us price-wise, but we peeked inside. We also peeked inside the downstairs bar with a really cool cottonwood tree at the center. My son really liked the kids size couch in the hotel lobby, kind of random, but it was one of his favorite things. The hotel charges a lot for parking, but we parked on the street half a block away all weekend without any issue for free. The hotel staff were very helpful and kind. We asked one of the front desk staff what the "B" lettering on the front wrought-iron balconies stood for, and they didn’t know. After some research, I was able to determine it was from when the hotel was named Hotel Blackwood, and they left the balconies that way. I then realized that this was the place where the Reuben sandwich was first invented. Of course I had to try it one evening! The evening server at the downstairs restaurant actually knew what the "B" on the balconies were for, and knew other cool hotel history! Unlikely we will come back to Omaha again, but if so, we will be staying at this hotel for sure!

This is an amazing hotel The history is fun, location is great. The people were fantastic. Kudos to the renovation team, they kept the style so much so that you can't tell where old and new meet. Oh, and the complementary wine reception was perfect after a long day.

Great hotel- very comfortable and clean. CJ and Elijah promptly delivered my car when using valet. Attentive with great service across the board. I usually do not care for valet because I do not have 30 minutes to wait for my car. But I will use valet every time here. Thank you!
