Reviews for Imperial Hotel, Osaka

Very comfortable

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Large (really large) lovely rooms with great service. The view is fantastic. I literally have no complaints. Breakfast is a little pricey. It's a little far from the main attractions and the train station. But the shuttle is extremely convenient. Only problem with that is - it stops by 940 pm. So after that, it's likely to be a long walk or an expensive cab ride to reach your hotel. But that doesn't take away from an extremely comfortable stay.

Perfect Accommodation

Imperial Hotel Osaka was exceptional. We were upgraded to a suite with fantastic river views. Staff went beyond to assist with directions. Located close to the JR Rail Loop, getting around Osaka was easy. Buffer breakfast was also perfect.

Not that convenient nearest subway is ten or fifteen minutes walking. The building doesn't seem to have been intended as a hotel, the inwardly angled side of the structure blocked almost half of my room's view... Windows do not open. There exists a fitness center but it is meant for mostly elderly locals, hotel guests are charged about 40 USD per time to discourage use. Room interior decoration is nice.

Excellent stay

Excellent service and hospitality and such a pleasant surprise to have experienced it. They have a legacy as understood from their founders message from 1900. Every person at the hotel was committed to serve and very friendly. Would highly recommend.

A Major caveat

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

When booking the imperial I did with confidence as had stayed at the imperial,Tokyo a few years ago and was impressed. When I looked at fellow travellers reviewed don't remember anyone criticising the location. Well the truth is it's a terrible location for a tourist as it is well out of the centre in an isolated location with no restaurants nearby the nearest group of restaurants is a good 15 minutes walk and those at the lower end. The hotel does have a shuttle which takes you 20 minutes to get to the main Osaka station. The hotel works like clockwork and the rooms are spacious and well equipped. Breakfast is ok but the bakery products need improvement especially considering it's a five star hotel . An abundance of well trained staff very professional service
