One weekend each May and November my wife and I travel to Oslo to attend a big numismatic auction held at the Rococosalen at Grand Hotel. In addition to the excitement of the auctions we enjoy the special Grand atmosphere, the hospitality and excellent service of the staff, the comfortable room and the excellent menu of the Palmen restaurant. This time we stayed at Grand Hotel from November 22 to 24 and are already looking forward to May next year.

We had a beautiful room with small balcony onto the park. Unfortunately, the bath was tiny, the towels actually bigger than the space. We coped. Breakfast buffet hectic and delicious. Best pastries in Norway. The staff were very accommodating, carried our bags to the room. Be assured it is all happening at the Grand. Stay here if you can.

This stay was much better than last time. Great first impression that the room was available early. Lovely Junior suite with view. Bonus with hottub after a 20 km training walk. Parked in the garage, great service. Only issue was the headwaiter/host for breakfast. She was rude, not welcoming and not a good fit for the service industry. I had ordered some pancakes for my wife(gluten and lactosefree) Got then from the chef, then suddenly the headwaiter/host came and grabbed them from my hand and said these were not for me. I tried to explain that I ordered it from the chef, the chef said the same. But still she took them, was angry with me and yelled at the chef. She told me that I had to understand that there was an more important guest that needed them before us and that we had to wait. I work in the industry and you NEVER treat guests like this. She made us feel 2nd and if a plate of food has been at a table or in a persons hand you should never give this to another guest. The chef looked really uncomfortable and did not appreciate this interaction The host/headwaiter should not work with guests

Try to always stay here, and their service is always top notch. Stil, an old hotel with the old style, but clean and nice decorations. Room this time was a delux room, so a bit big for me, but ok. The closes space a bit worn down, and no shoe horn or umbrella. The drawers felt a bit cheap. There were two TVs and the problem was, that there was only one remote control, so when you were in bed and turned on the one you see on the wall, the big screen in the sitting area went on as well. Could not unplug that one easily, so a bit enoying. Gym is good, but not big. Best part is probably breakfast, which is very extensive. You can order ie omeltte, or something like that as well. Use that opportunity, its very good. Just tell the cooks in the kitchen. Location is amazing.

We were incredibly impressed with the service we received at Grand Hotel Oslo as always. We've been using this hotel for 3 consecutive years now and every time its exceptional. Ina's attention to detail and proactive approach made the planning process a breeze. The event itself was flawless, thanks to the efficient and friendly staff like Natalie. We are grateful for the opportunity to host our event at such a prestigious venue.
