Hotel Continental Oslo

We used our Amex card to book our stay at the Continental. Immediately upon arrival we were advised of a room upgrade. Lovely. The check in process was so easy, the concierge and desk staff so friendly and willing to provide any support we might need. The room was comfortable and graciously appointed, with bottles of water and a delicious Lakris Bulow candy treat. Turn down service completed our luxury experience. We were made to feel like important guests.t

First class room. Excellent service. We were told of a way to get some of our luggage to Bergen while we took a tour of the fjords. Good not having to take all of our out with us every day. Hotel staff informed us of the service. Hotel management reimbursed us for 2 day when the telephone and television did not work due to IT issues hotel wide.

The hotel is very nice and located in a central area. The rooms aren’t particularly large, but they are beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. The woman at housekeeping staff were incredibly kind, and the ladies at the breakfast buffet were also friendly and attentive. The same goes for the women at reception during check-in, they were extremely welcoming and polite. Unfortunately, my experience at check-out was disappointing. If it weren’t for this, I would have rated my stay 5 stars. At check-out, I was attended to by a man at the reception who was very rude and dismissive. He appeared irritated and disinterested, which made me feel uncomfortable. He charged the full room bill to the card I’d left on file without my authorization. When I mentioned that I wanted to pay with a different card, he sighed and began making excuses to justify his actions. Then, he called over another young man with blond hair who was equally rude, did not apologize, and treated me poorly. While my overall stay was enjoyable, this unpleasant experience at check-out alone warrants a 1 star rating

Hotel Continental is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and I have travelled extensively. The position is perfect. Literally step off your plane and take the Flytoget train straight to National Theatre stop. Then you will pop out and the hotel is opposite. Everything is in easy reach - a smart shopping strip with nice restaurants, the port and I took a 25 minute walk to visit the beautiful Frognerparken to see ridiculously good sculptures. Great hospitality is evident throughout the hotel. Check in was courteous and kind. The room was of a very high calibre, perfectly decorated and using the highest quality fixtures and fittings. When I couldn’t turn on my TV, reception immediately sent a delightful man up who sorted it out immediately. Toey, breakfast host was personable and interested in me and my plans. Your staff are truly a credit to you! Personal touches left by the general manager and his staff were very much appreciated. The linen on the bed was exemplary and the bed itself was like sleeping on a cloud. Breakfast was truly curated perfectly. It was both a delight to all of my senses. What a lovely stay in Oslo I had and this hotel was a perfect adjunct to a wonderful Hurtigruten cruise up the spectacular coastline. Highly recommend staying here. This hotel is the stuff of pure happiness! Thank you for having me.

The hotel is very, very nice, in every way-starting is the friendliness of all of the staff, and their professionalism and helpfulness. I had received an email that I had an upgrade, and asked them, and they said yes. The restaurant attached to the hotel is popular, with much history, and exceeded my expectations. The room could not have been more comfortable and well appointed, and clean. The breakfast was delicious whenever I wanted help with getting a taxi ordered for later or asking details,the front desk/staff could not have been more helpful. It was a surprisingly exceptional experience at the hotel, which was modern with the room, and yet made me feel I was clearly in Oslo.
