About the Hotel

An enchanting location just a few minutes from Otranto, surrounded by verdant olive groves and the azure Salento sea. The Baglioni Masseria Muzza is a magical historic property deep in the Salento countryside amid the Mediterranean flora, the fragrance of the olives, and the beautiful Adriatic beaches. It is a superlative blend of the simplicity of the old Puglia tradition and the excellence of luxury Italian hospitality in inimitable Baglioni style. Reviews for Baglioni Masseria Muzza

Outstanding, lovely and warm hotel!

What a beautiful hotel for our trip to Puglia! The Baglioni was everything we expected and more! The staff was wonderfully accommodating and the property was stunning. The restaurant and breakfast were perfect and they even packed us a “to go” box for one of our boat excisions (which they booked for us that was exceptional) and on another occasion when my son was ill. The shuttle to town and beaches was an added bonus and the drivers were friendly. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel siting the professionalism of the staff and the beauty of the entire property. One negative was that our room upon arrival did have a very strong smell of mildew. I have mold allergies and explained this to the front desk who quickly gave us an alternate room that was just perfect! We hope to return some day.

High class hotel with fabulous staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We stayed in a junior suite which was cool, calm and serene. The bed was big and comfy, the bathroom was large and finally (after staying in 4 other Puglian hotels) I had a proper makeup mirror! 😃 The terrace is ok, a bit small and hemmed in as we were on the lower level but it was fine. The pool area is lovely with the best sunbeds with decent thick mattresses. The pool is unheated and is on the cool side, but we were still able to swim in it in September. The hotel run a complimentary shuttle to a local beach club which is definitely worth taking advantage of. Reception will book the best sunbeds for you in advance, which I imagine would be key in high season. Overall this is a beautiful high class resort with fantastic staff. I especially want to recognise Vittiore (the restaurant manager - hope I got his name right!), the pool attendant (Giacomo I think) and the ladies at reception. The only thing to note, which has been mentioned by other reviewers is that this is a very pricey resort for food and drink. The sort of prices I would expect to pay in London rather than rural Italy. But there are other options about if you want to eat elsewhere.

An excellent hotel with great staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This hotel is beautiful with a fabulous pool and excellent bar and dining facilities, with a beautiful sunset every evening. The breakfast buffet is also excellent, with perfectly cooked omelets every day and the best coffee we’ve had in Italy. Most importantly the service was world-class, not just from the Manager Rocco, but from every team member we interacted with during our stay. Thank you to the whole team. We will be back! 🙏
