Reviews for Amani Boutique Hotel

Good but not great

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

In March 2024, we stayed at Amani Boutique Hotel, expecting a high standard given its association with Hyatt’s Small Luxury Hotels of the World. While our experience wasn’t bad, it didn’t quite meet our expectations. The hotel was clean, but our room was quite small, and the bathroom was simple rather than luxurious. Check in was a bit too formal and structured, which made the process feel less welcoming. The food was acceptable, but the limited variety left us wanting more options. One of the main letdowns was the beach, it wasn’t as beautiful as we had hoped, so we often walked to a nearby beach to enjoy the clear turquoise waters of Paje. Overall, it was a decent stay, but we expected a bit more in terms of comfort, atmosphere, and overall experience.

A bit Underwhelming-Expected More

We stayed at Amani Botique Hotel in March 2024 ,expecting a high standard as part of Hyatt Small Luxury Hotels of the world.Unfortunately, our expectations were not fully met. While the hotel was clean ,our room was quite small, and the bathroom felt very basic. Check in was a bit rigid almost like a classroom setting, which didn’t set the best tone for our stay. The food was okay but lacked variety. One of the biggest letdowns was the beach-it wasn’t as beautiful as we had hoped, and we often had to walk to a nearby beach to experience the stunning turquoise waters of Paje. Overall it was an okay stay, but we expected more in terms of comfort and experience. Best regards, Alexandra Csomos

Comfortable experience

Great place, perfect for those who want peace and quiet while still having easy access to the rest of Paje during daytime. (walkable during daytime and tuktuk by night). Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Cute monkeys roaming the property, close your balcony doors.

Lovely, Isolated Property

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The room was nice and was kept very clean and the staff were very kind. However, my wife and I found it to be a little too small / quiet, and a bit too far away from all the fun restaurants and bars of Paje. It's a fast paced 10-15min walk north before you hit the dense strip of restaurants, etc. So if you're looking for a small, quiet place to stay with dinner onsite this place might be great for you. But if you're more adventurous and want to get off the small property by walking along the beach I'd suggest getting something closer to town!

Beautiful stay in Zanzibar

We had a wonderful 4 nights at this hotel. I loved that it was really small as it made for a very personable experience. I loved the friendly staff and the incredible dinners (the chef is awesome!). It was nice to be close to Paje to explore at lunch. The beach in front of the hotel has a lot of seaweed but you only need to walk a few minutes to find a beautiful seaweed free section with clear and warm waters. Even during low tide it was amazing to explore and sit in the shallow waters. If you want to learn to kitesurf this is the place to do it. I hope to be back one day!
