Beautiful stay in Zanzibar

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We had a wonderful 4 nights at this hotel. I loved that it was really small as it made for a very personable experience. I loved the friendly staff and the incredible dinners (the chef is awesome!). It was nice to be close to Paje to explore at lunch. The beach in front of the hotel has a lot of seaweed but you only need to walk a few minutes to find a beautiful seaweed free section with clear and warm waters. Even during low tide it was amazing to explore and sit in the shallow waters. If you want to learn to kitesurf this is the place to do it. I hope to be back one day!

Perfect tranquil hotel to unwind and relax!

Fabulous week in this gorgeous boutique hotel! If you want to recharge your batteries and have a relaxing week in beautiful Zanzibar this is the perfect hotel . Only 14 rooms and adults only so it feels exclusive and tranquil. The decor of the hotel and rooms is calming and it is in a beautiful quiet setting directly on the beach yet only a 20 minute walk to Paje along the beach. The food was lovely and all the staff were friendly and attentive . The restaurant is run very efficiently by the lovely Robert and a special mention must go Josephine and Alex. Would highly recommend and would definitely return !

Romantic beach oasis

Stayed at the Amani for 5 nights and had a delightful experience. Room #9 was lovely with a fairly private balcony, great view and ample living space. The service was very good, especially Robert at the restaurant. Breakfast buffets with made to order omelettes were good as was served dinners that included 2 starters, a choice of 3-4 entres and 2 desserts. Swahili grill and music social with all the guests on Wednesday evenings. Nice beach lounges in with shaded palapas and a couple. Ice spots to relax with a drink & view the ocean. The tidal changes totally change the look of the beach, revealing sand bars that you can walk to. We took a short beach stroll north to Paje and south to Jambiani for lunch. Also went to see monkeys in Jozani forest and a day trip to Mnemba island area to snorkel - nice coral, bountiful fish & crystal clear waters.

Great stay at Amani Boutique Hotel

We had a great stay in a very nice location. The hotel staff was very proactive and friendly to fulfill all our personal wishes. We also liked the food a lot. The pool is very nice to cool down on hot days. The hotel is directly located at the beach. All-in-all it was a truely outstanding guest experience.

Gorgeous hotel, great beach location.

We spent the second half of our honeymoon at the Amani Hotel and it was the perfect place to unwind and relax after the hectic safari that preceded it. The hotel has a spectatcular setting, right on the beach, with its unbelievably white sand and turquoise sea. We were lucky enough to be in Room 10 which was huge and enjoyed a fantastic easterly view from the balcony over the hotel's pool to the beach. The hotel staff were all lovely and went out of their way to make our stay special. The food was very good and we particularly enjoyed 'Swahili Night' where there was a delicious buffet of traditional dishes and a group of local musicians to serenade guests as we ate!  The only negative for us was that the prices charged for drinks etc at the hotel were very high compared to prices at the bars (and other hotels) along the beach in Paje and Jambiani - be warned that prices at the Amani are in USD not Tanzanian Shillings like most other places. That aside, we would certainly recommend the Amani for a luxurious escape in an idlyllic setting - we had a fabulous stay and the perfect end to an unforgettable honeymoon.
