One could sum this review up as "You cant get there from here". When I booked my $1200/night plus reservation I asked about transportation services. They told me they don't have any and they don't know of any. People schedule uber and Lyft. We scheduled a Lyft for 6 people. The morning of the Lyft at the time of pick up ,they cancelled. The next 3 canceled. We had tickets to the race Daytona for 6 people which is next to b the airport. There were 2 parties departing. One was called in from Jacksonville and the other was Elegant limo and weddings, who have been in the area 19 years with excellent reviews. I called after the ride shares kept cancelling, and they were fully booked. But the owner said please take their card in as they can transport. The illogical person at the desk, refused to accept the card. Said they can't refer someone unless they used them. I doubt any employee would choose to leave from the resort to the airport ever. However she did say someone from the company has to hand them the card. The driver went in and gave them a card. The desk person had 3 stacks of transport services in her drawer. (I guess this has to remain a secret). Then they said they could only suggest uber and Lyft. Which ended up costing us over $500.00. This morning the desk mentioned a lot of people were very upset because their Ubers and Lyft s cancelled and they missed their flights. I guess you better keep that drawer closed. I'll never return. Our villa was in poor shape. Bdrm door had a hole in it. Washable removable chair covers were stained/soiled. Furniture was beat up. Knob on drawer missing. TVs kept freezing. One was stuck on strawberry shortcake. Kitchen was barebones. Towels shortage and didn't bring any requested ones. I guess we were supposed to wash towels each day The drawers weren't even lined. Reservations for the restaurant were impossible to get. They said I needed to book far in advance. I called a few days in advance and when they sent me an email telling me to, but it was too late. They don't take outside reservations either. When I went in to cancel my late 9pm dinner reservations, they clearly could have accommodated us earlier and said so, However on the phone they said nothing avail. And nothing would be available in the other restaurant either. The coffee shop was incredibly slow, 3 people could have been organized, for a grab and go. The people in front of my daughter who only had a drink from the shelf, said they would just pay for her drink because her ride was there and they waited a long time. Go to the gulf coast, Sandpearl-that's a resort. This is a golf course, that doesn't even try.

Went for a weekend getaway, and we had the best time. The property is beautiful, all of the service at every restaurant was amazing, and we felt like royalty. We WILL be back with the kids next time so they can join in on the fun like the lazy river and mini golf.

Subject: A Pathetic Excuse for a Luxury Experience Dear Hammock Beach Resort Management, You market yourselves as a luxury resort, but my recent experience was nothing short of embarrassing—for both your establishment and for us as paying guests. Let me be clear: the service we received at your resort was utterly disgraceful. I’ve always ensured my husband has branded logo golf balls from every course he plays worldwide—a basic expectation from any course claiming to be upscale. Instead, at your course, not only were luxury balls unavailable, but my husband was handed his golf balls in a ziplock bag. A ZIPLOCK BAG. He was mocked relentlessly by his friends, who joked they must’ve been dredged from a pond. Do you have any idea how humiliating that was? And if that weren’t bad enough, when I called your management to address this disaster, I was HUNG UP ON. Not only does your resort lack luxury, but it also lacks the most basic customer service or respect for your guests. Frankly, it’s laughable that Hammock Beach dares to call itself a luxury destination. Your complete disregard for professionalism, attention to detail, and guest satisfaction is appalling. I can assure you this won’t go unnoticed, as I fully intend to share my experience far and wide. Get your act together.

The pictures make this place look better than it is. It looked very tired, probably was a nice place in the 1980’s. Food was average at best at the restaurants. This was very disappointing. The perfect ending was when the valet left a scratch on my truck. Not a great visit.

We spent three nights in an oceanfront room at the lodge. We have been to this resort many times and stayed in the lodge several times. This will be the last. We were told last time we were there that they were planning to tear the lodge building down and rebuild, well they are several years too late in doing that. The building itself is worn out and they do not seem to be doing any upkeep to it. The room itself was tired and worn as well. Grout in the bathroom was black, even though the areas that didn’t see wear it beige. The carpet was frayed and dirty. The balcony railing looked like it hadn’t seen any maintenance in years. The paint was all peeling off. Ther were boards missing on the ceiling of the balcony, leaving gaping holes above your head. Even the soap dish in the bathroom was disgusting with rust. Upon checking in, the heat in the room did not work. We had to have engineering come and fix it. All he did was mess with the thermostat until it started working, stating it sometimes gets stuck. Well maybe you should install a new thermostat that doesn’t get stuck. During our entire stay, there were issues with the TV signal. We had engineering twice trying to fix the issue, but it was never resolved. Every 15-20 minutes, signal would get lost and required rebooting. Last time entering was there, his response was, well it’s Spectrums equipment, so not much we can do. Well we weren’t paying Spectrum a premium for an Oceanfront room with expected amenities. The second night, we were getting ready for dinner reservation and I plugged hair dryer in only to have it catch fire in my hand and fill the bathroom with smoke. Called the front desk, and they said they’d get a new hair dryer to us when they could. When I told them that wasn’t good enough, she replied, I’ll do the best I can and hung up. The setting is beautiful, right along the beach and golf course, but they have let this building go into such disrepair that they should never be able to charge the kind of price they do for these tired run down rooms.
