Wonderful hotel and facilities. The best thing about the hotel was the staff and the service with a smile…..always. Have never been to a country where the welcome was so special. The food was excellent. We stayed in block 3 and couldn’t fault the room….which was spacious and the bed was super comfy. Glad to have had factor 85 sunscreen provided as the sun was fab but v strong. We did a sloth tour with ISSY TOURS…Very straightforward to book…..illias was our tour guide…and he was great and lunch out was good. No complaints. Thank you to all x

I love being at El Mangroove, I love the vibe. Both times I have met wonderful, warm and welcoming staff and had great conversations with fellow travelers. This trip, I had the pleasure of taking yoga with Carlo. I was grateful for him leading me through such wonderful yoga practices. I appreciated his prompts and hands on support. I practice 2x a week back home, and having a different instructor, a different setting, breathes fresh life into your practice. I have a bad back and with Carlo’s adjustments I was able to do some poses that I haven’t been able to do for years. I am grateful for the experience of having Carlo elevate my yoga practice 🙏🏼

Our stay was overall a 3 out of 5. As loyal members, we were upgraded to a nicer room, which was appreciated. The property itself is modern and visually appealing, but several key issues impacted our experience. The biggest disappointment was the beach. Unfortunately, the beach conditions were unacceptable. Locals bring their dogs, which often results in messes on the beach, and smoking was prevalent. This made it hard to enjoy the beach area, which is typically a key part of any coastal stay. The service was generally good, but there were a few misses. For example, I tried to book a coffee tasting experience on the same day, only to be told there were just eight seats available per day for the entire hotel. This felt poorly managed—why promote an experience that’s nearly impossible to book? Additionally, there are extra charges for almost everything. Even takeout orders incur a mandatory 10% service fee plus 13% tax. Unfortunately, the room service food was another letdown. We tried various items like pizza, fries, and brownies, but none were edible. On the positive side, the hotel was not overcrowded, so there was always someone available to assist with questions. Towels were readily available, sunblock was provided throughout the property, and free yoga classes were offered on certain days (Monday, Wednesday, Friday), which was a nice touch. However, due to the poor beach conditions and the fact that it’s frequented by locals with their dogs, I wouldn’t recommend this property. For us, the beach experience was unpleasant and detracted significantly from our stay.

The El Mangroove is a lovely property with an amazing location and a great view. The rooms are quite spacious especially with the adjoining indoor/outdoor area that melds the indoors with the outdoors without leaving your room! The lobby was quite welcoming and immediately immersed us into the relaxing atmosphere of the resort. This feeling continued into the outdoor restaurant, beyond the pool, which seemed to seemlessly and naturally connect the resort with the bay and ocean beyond. The beach area was quite spacious with an ample seating area and naturally protected from the sun. The whole resort reflected the natural inspiration of the surroundings-Pura Vida! The best part of our trip was the excursion we took Jet ski tour, Rio Celeste and Buena Vista Adventure...nomadtourscr Ask him to set you up for a day tour to Rain forest and sloth experience and that you want julio to be your guide! I promise it will be the highlight of your trip! Gabriel is awesome and will help you book anything you want to do.

An absolutely stunning hotel with excellent service and amazing resort food. We went here for an offsite retreat for work and our group had a fabulous time. We especially appreciated the amazing service we received from the staff and a special shout out to Pablo- Concierge Agent who helped my team out every day from booking experiences to shuttles and providing amazing information.
