About the Hotel
At only 20 minutes from touch-down to sand, El Mangroove is a contemporary boutique hotel with a unique personality. It contains 85 bohemian-chic suites surrounded by forest, beach and mangrove that are only steps away from the ocean. Large rooms, with seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces, create a comfortable and relaxing haven. The suites are situated within 3 two-story buildings, which are set in front of glass-like water mirrors and nestled amongst the mangrove. The two on-site restaurants Matiss and Makoko offer a combination of laid-back modern cuisine and sensorial gastronomy. Service is personalized and attentive; guests call it outstanding. The resort captures the simplistic yet exotic character of Costa Rica, with natural wood furnishings, regional artwork and contemporary stone finishes. Wonderful stay
Beautiful hotel. Very clean, and accommodating. Beautiful pools, and rooms. All of the Staff were excellent. Pablo the concierge was extremely helpful, took care of everything we needed. Thank you Pablo!! 10/10 Would recommend. Can take shuttles off the resort to where you need to go as well.

Not a typo "manGROOVE" not "mangrove"
They had a picture that talked about relaxing and getting in the groove, hence the name "El Mangroove." This is what you think of as a fancy, posh resort from the decor inside and out to the pools and pool areas to the food. Unfortunately our stay was too short to really get into the groove. It was definitely cool though.

The El Mangroove like all Autograph Collection Marriotts has a special charm and this one did NOT disappoint!! I'm a Marriott Titanium member and travel quite frequently. We loved the good vibes at this place and the restaurant was one of the best meals we had in Costa Rica over the 16 nights we were there! The bar service was pretty good...sometimes when I was next to the beach they forgot about me and I had to wait a bit but it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. Other hotel staff like check-in/concierge etc was awesome We booked excursions with nomadtourscr they were better than we expected. We also booked our airport transportation through him! The drivers were all so sweet, informative, timely & their vans were all so clean. I highly recommend LaLeona waterfall & Hacienda Aromal,Rain forest and jet ski tour Even my 4yr old had the most amazing time doing these excursions & had his own personal guide who took wonderful care of him on each excursion!!

This hotel reception, staff, and service was so good. We wish we could have stayed longer. Your staff is upbeat, helpful, and very kind. After staying at another Marriott our first week and ending our vacation here, we know without a doubt we would return here just for the quality treatment. You made our brief stay for 2 worn down travelers exceptional and gave us the kindness that Costa Rico has to offer! Thank you so much
