Reviews for Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa

Lovely desert mountain oasis

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

The Sanctuary was recommended to us by a friend. We enjoyed our stay here and wished it was not so short. Troy at the front desk, our valet driver, and the women's spa attendant were so friendly! Our mountain suite was spotless, comfortable, and had a wonderful mountain and sunset view. We walked into Elements in the evening and received a spectacular table with a view and great service. We did not have time to fully utilize all of the resort offerings, but we noticed there are plenty of pools, pickleball and activities for couples and families alike.

Would not recommend

Very overpriced! Would not recommend. Nice place but not worth the cost. Room rates are very high yet they try to ding you for small things . They should include many extras for what they charge. They seem more interested in maximizing short term profits than encouraging repeat guests.

Great Stay, With Just a Tiny Asterisk*

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We visited Sanctuary for the first time last month and had a wonderful visit, we stayed in one of the resort’s villas and it was beautiful, quiet, furnished impeccably, and had amazing views of North Scottsdale. A big plus for this resort is the ability to park your car right next to your suite or villa (which can be a considerable distance from the main reception building and restaurants) as it can be time-consuming to wait for transporting help and car retrieval at other area resorts. The bell staff, which greets you upon arrival in the driveway, was outstanding – they were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable and were always available with assistance with luggage or directions if either was desired. The only minor nit guests should be aware of is what I’d call nickel-and-diming of little things like a 20% service charge on in-room snacks and drinks. These already contain huge markups (e.g., very small bags of nuts or cookies have a list price of $14 and some liquors in the $100s) and we already were paying a resort fee of $125 (plus 13.2% occupancy tax) per night and it was a bit of a dissatisfier and blemish on what otherwise was a perfect stay. It’s not something that would dissuade us from staying again and I’m not docking the resort’s overall rating but it is something anyone staying here should be aware of so as to not be surprised. It’s such a small thing and immaterial in the scheme of things, but also something the resort of this caliber ought to avoid.

Above the spectacular food, views and amenities, the staff made our stay a true delight. The spa treatment was incredible and everyone went above and beyond to ensure that we had a special experience. We were thrilled to invite friends and family to visit this beautiful resort with us.

Good resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

There's only one restaurant but they try to have a diverse menu. I prefer choices of genre. Spa treatment using CBD oils was terrific. Not much nightlife (dancing, etc.) We did not use any of the sport facilities. Rooms are spacious and clean.

Just returned from a trip that included a four-night package at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain. The level of service cannot be overestimated. At the pool it took no more than two minutes for someone to bring glasses of ice water with lemon - every chaise was covered with a lounge cover and a fresh towel waiting under an opened umbrella. The quality of the food was exceptional as well. I cannot tell you what a splendid experience this was. Thanks for the opportunity!
