About the Hotel

Hotel Balzac Paris is in the heart of the City of Light. Parisian-chic design, a vibrant color palette and soft lighting drape this property—part of the LVX collection of Preferred Hotels & Resorts—in warm elegance, setting the tone for an exceptional experience. Built for the director of the Paris Opera in 1853, this deluxe townhouse-style boutique hums with the French art de vivre, serving as a plush sanctuary for rest and relaxation and a central headquarters for your Parisian holiday. Honoré de Balzac, the prolific and influential writer for whom the hotel is named, once made his home on the site, and collections of antique books and lithographs depicting the author and scenes from his work adorn the property. 13 suites and 57 rooms marry opulent details like oak-floored entrances and marble bathrooms to state-of-the-art technology, including LCD televisions, cable and internet access. Romantic skyline views of the exquisite Eiffel Tower from the third floor up are available by special request.

Amazing place

A very surprising welcome, with excellent service. The room was more than I expected, and I only regretted that I was alone.

Treat you like a thief

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Ok it all started shady I booked in a deluxe room at a rate of 549 euros which was fine. I ended up being downgraded to a superior just because I said I wanted some sort of balcony. The staff was super friendly at first and listen at first. The morning after I had already prepaid both nights on arrival they ask me for an extra 600 euros by 3 pm or unless I would be kicked out. I m Italian and in Italy banks and shops close at lunch time. So no way I could get my bank to send me 600 euros in 5 minutes. To be fair Arianna at concierge was super helpful and so kind trying to solve the situation. The lady manager was super rude. In the end the decided not to wait anyone until and decided to kick me out. Treating me like a thief. I asked can I stay at the bar until I find another hotel they said yes but let me pay every drink thinking I might not have money or run away!!! In the end I found a beautiful Mr and Mrs smith hotel in Marais. Avoid this hotel at all costs they only care about money and treat you like a thief!! Message me if you want more details!

The staff at Balzac Hotel is so sweet, professional, and always ready to help. The hotel itself is cosy, beautifully maintained, and located in a perfect area. Jihad was particularly welcoming and attentive, making the experience even better. I truly enjoyed every moment of my stay and would highly recommend Balzac hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and comfortable visit.
