About the Hotel

Hotel Balzac Paris is in the heart of the City of Light. Parisian-chic design, a vibrant color palette and soft lighting drape this property—part of the LVX collection of Preferred Hotels & Resorts—in warm elegance, setting the tone for an exceptional experience. Built for the director of the Paris Opera in 1853, this deluxe townhouse-style boutique hums with the French art de vivre, serving as a plush sanctuary for rest and relaxation and a central headquarters for your Parisian holiday. Honoré de Balzac, the prolific and influential writer for whom the hotel is named, once made his home on the site, and collections of antique books and lithographs depicting the author and scenes from his work adorn the property. 13 suites and 57 rooms marry opulent details like oak-floored entrances and marble bathrooms to state-of-the-art technology, including LCD televisions, cable and internet access. Romantic skyline views of the exquisite Eiffel Tower from the third floor up are available by special request.

Reviews for Hotel Balzac Paris

Nice experience in boutique hotel off Champs Elysees

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Very well located boutique hotel in the heart of Paris. The service was warm and welcoming and even though my stay was short and for work, I was able to experience a nice stay. The rooms are spacious and well equiped. I would come back and also try their spa and restaurant.

Nice on the first impression, staff is kind and friendly, but the quality is soso

We really loved the entrance of the Hotel, Lobby is nice but the white sofas already show some stains and once you are inside you notice that the Hotel has been renovated with some limitations and the quality of the renovations is not high end. I expeced a bit more from the Hotel to be honest. We had some issues with the rooms, but the staff was lovely and helpful. After two room changes (technical issues in each) we ended up in a nice corner room and enjoyed our stay. We ordered in-room dining, the pasta was cold.

Location, staff and design brilliant

We stayed here for 6 nights at the start of January. The hotel design is very chic. All of the staff are knowledgeable and very helpful. We had a junior suite which was huge and my kids shared a twin room which for Paris was a good size. It is a 1 minute walk to the Champs Elysee, 2 minutes to the Arc de Triomphe, 1 minute to the metro and close to some great restaurants. Breakfast was delicious with a good range to choose from. We enjoyed spending the end of the day at the jacuzzi to warm our tired legs. Pre dinner drinks at the bar were a pleasant way to start our evening. We loved the hotel that much we will be staying have booked it again and have told two groups of friends to stay here when they visit Paris soon.

Balzac Hotel Paris …6 stars experience !

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My husband , three children and I were guest at the Balzac Hotel in Paris January 2- 5 2025. We had a memorable and extremely enjoyable experience during our visit to Paris. That experience was due in part to the attentiveness and kindness of the staff at the Balzac Hotel ,in particular , Mr. JIHAD. We often stopped by the concierge desk to inquire about good restaurants in the area and museum tours. Mr. JIHAD listened attentively and gave us invaluable insight of the best hours to explore the city and where to dine. He was always there to follow up with us, making sure that everything was going to plan, and that we were enjoying our stay at the hotel. Mr. JIHAD was kind and sincere which translates into excellent people skill. We will certainly choose the Balzac Hotel for any future visit to Paris.

Disappointing stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We were satisfied by our first night at the hotel. However, on the second day after we told the hotel staff to clean our room as we would not be there for the next 3/4hrs, we came back to find out that the cleaning staff had stolen a very precious piece of jewellery from my girlfriend’s jewellery case. After mentioning this to the hotel staff they said we had misplaced the ring in the room and would not even believe that it may have been stolen by the cleaning staff that cleaned our room. The only correspondence we got was from the reception desk and we never received any apology whatsoever. It’s sad to see this is now the level of service of a 5* star hotel in one of the best locations in a city like Paris.
