IT IS VERY PLEASANT TO BE IN PARIS AT THE PONT ROYAL

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

My wife and I spent five nights at the Hôtel Pont Royal, our customary hotel when we come to Paris. As frequent guests, we can only praise the premises as well the very highly qualified hotel personnel. Nevertheless, I must report that we have not been advised neither at reservation nor at the actual check-in that our last 2 nights (November 7th and 8th) would be charged at more expensive rates. At the reservation date and at the actual check-in date, we understood that the 5 nights would be priced at the same rate ( 594 euros per night). Moreover, as we had to leave the hotel very early (at 6:50 A.M.) on our last day, we did not have breakfast (we informed this at check-in), but we were charged anyhow. Notwithstanding the above, I wish to reinstate that the Hôtel Pont Royal stands in our memories and our hearts as "our" Parisian hotel to which we intend to return whenever we are in Paris.

Fabulous views and location

This is a lovely hotel with a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower, and Paris. I can’t say enough good things about the location. Walkable to the Louvre and so many other things. Very lovely. Highly recommend. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. We had a very early morning train and had ordered an Uber that ended up being a no-show. The hotel staff was able to get us a taxi to make sure that we were able to catch our train. I would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful hotel and room in a nice location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Very helpful staffs at the reception who were accomodative / flexible with check-in and out, and also kind enough to advise on location alternatives. Room was great with a very beautiful and clear view of the Eiffel Tower. Location is perfect, such a beautiful area of the town with a lot of eateries and close proximity to the train stations

Avoid Room 109

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Had high hopes of this hotel and it is very nice. Staff very warm and welcoming. It's our 20th wedding anniversary and I did mention this when I emailed for restaurant recommendations. First disappointing thing is the positioning of our room. We are on the 1st floor in a Superior Double. The room is warm and cozy. A good size and a lovely surprise, a bath. The room is very traditional and very nice. However, the view is of a brick wall on three times. There are french doors on to a small terrace with two chairs but you would never want to sit there, it is dark and depressing. There is a massive church wall on the left and infront and to the right 60ft plus blank walls. What a shame, the photos on the website never mentioned this possibility and all the photos just showed views of tge skyline, very misleading. The second cause for concern is that reception asked for a card to hold the room even thoughwe paid in advance. There is a £175 charge pending on our account. We are lucky and there is plenty of money in the account however, if you did not know they would be doing this it could potentially cause problems. We are in Room 109 so as nice and warm as it is Ibwould avoid. It would appear from the plan of the hotel that our room is the only one on this side of the building. We were offered the chance to move to the 5th floor for an extra charge of €60 per night. Also, every afternoon house keeping come to the room, not sure why, they left biscuits and a breakfast menu and emptied the bin, it's a bit of a waste and intrusive as on both occasions we were in the room, this service is not necessary.

A great choice, very pleased with our stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We were extremely happy with our hotel choice. Great location to walk to restaurants, the Seine and several museums. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were spotless. They also have jazz in their bar on Mondays. The balcony afforded nice views including the Eiffel Tower

This was the fourth hotel I booked on Luxury Link. We enjoyed the other three, but this hotel was not good! Very dated, staff not friendly, but the location was good. A disappointment!
