Reviews for Hotel Regina Louvre

First trip to Paris with teenagers

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 14 hours ago

We stayed in the Hotel Regina with our two teenage sons. It was their first trip to Paris. The property is historic with beautiful stained glass and rich wood. It has a true Parisien feel. The location is also perfect, right next to the Louvre and several different metro stations. We stayed in a family room where two adjoining rooms are connected. One room contained a king-size bed which could be split into twins (perfect for the kids) and the other a comfortable double bed. The rooms were extremely quiet and afforded us two very clean modern bathrooms. The staff here is wonderful. Everyone was extremely kind and treated us like royalty. The Concierge team was very helpful and arranged in advance for a van to pick us up at the airport when we arrived. There is a fee for this, but probably not too much more than what one would pay for a taxi. After fighting our way through CDG airport, this was a wonderful luxury for a family of four traveling with luggage. Room service is also available if desired. The food is good, although expensive. We were overall extremely pleased with our experience and look forward to staying at the Regina again in the future. We would recommend this property without reservation.

Things simply don't work

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

I wanted to love this hotel...the photos on the website were so lovely and indeed the lobby is charming. But our room was tiny and ancient. That too could have been "charming" but simple things to make the stay comfortable simply didn't work. For example, the air conditioning couldn't cool the room. The shower drain wasn't working and the design of the shower was such that water flooded into the bathroom floor every time we tried to take a shower. We asked for help with both issues and there was no improvement. We had to live with it (as our reservation stipulated no refunds). By the way, our reservation had the benefit of a free upgrade if rooms were available. A staff member checked availability, told us she needed to talk to her manager and then came back to tell us that there wasn't anything available. I got the very clear impression that she would not have bothered to talk to her manager if she hadn't seen room options, so I have to assume the manager just didn't want to give the upgrade. We did appreciate being in a good location but wish things were updated enough to simply work for guests. This can't be considered a 5-star hotel compared to other 5-star hotels we've stayed in. At best a 3-star. I think you'll be much more comfortable in a hotel that is either newer or has been upgraded to meet basic standards.

A Stay in Paris

A beautiful , iconic hotel, very approachable staff. Knowledgeable, polite and accommodating. Each staff member, from the person helping us with our bags to the front desk personnel saw to it that our needs were cared for. What a terrific experience.

Regina in March

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Great location, next door to Louvre, excellent service - as always, and nicely remodeled/updated rooms. Not all the rooms at Regina have a city of street view, however, the courtyard many of the rooms are facing is a typical Parisian setting.

We had a wonderful time at the Regina. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Also, all items included in our package arrived promptly. The hotel is very well geared to the Luxury Link auction features and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
