30 degrees outside, not much warmer in our room

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I have stayed in this hotel many times over the past 10 years - both with just my husband as well as with my children. I always return because the location is great, it is very clean, and the service was previously wonderful. I was there in January of 2025 and my room smelled like smoke when I entered. We called the front desk to let them know someone may be smoking on our floor and they said they would investigate, although we never heard anyone come to our floor. They didn't seem very concerned. We noticed our room was very cold and thought we just didn't know what we were doing with the "climatisation". We endured one cold day then asked the front desk what we were doing wrong - they sent the building engineer who confirmed it was set as warm as it would go. He went to his office to turn up the heat and told us to wait 20 minutes for it to kick in. Nothing happened. We called the front desk and they said we needed to wait for the engineer to come back to look into it. Nothing happened. We called back and said we were freezing - the heat was clearly broken and the air blowing it felt the same temperature as the 30 degree weather outside - and they told us they would be "delighted to help us" but needed time. More of the same for another hour, meanwhile I'm under the covers in my winter coat. Finally they offered us the room next door, which reeked of smoke - mystery solved why our room had the smell of smoke. We said no thanks and they offered us a choice of two rooms on a lower floor that were slightly warmer. They weren't very apologetic. To me, lack of heat seems crazy in a 5 star hotel, but not so much to the people we dealt with. Our new room never got very warm but at least we didn't have to wear jackets inside. I won't be staying here again.

Wonderful staff and stay

I visited Paris for the first time with my teenagers in March and our travel agent recommended the Renaissance Arc Du Triomphe for its location. We were in the middle of two Metro lines, and two steps away from the Arc Du Triomphe and Champs Élysées. The hotel is medium to small-sized, with modern decor. The rooms are small but that’s expected. It was tricky with four adult-sized people and two full beds, even if the room was considered a jr. suite/family room. However, what made the hotel special was the amazing staff. From the moment Ibrahima greeted us with a big smile and Eugene checked us in I knew it was going to be a great stay. Hermiona at the front desk was very helpful as well. Caroline in the restaurant was lovely and we enjoyed helping her practice her (perfect!) Spanish. I tried my best with the little French I know, I appreciate them humoring and encouraging me, haha! We had room service and ate art the hotel restaurant once, the food was delicious. I recommend this Renaissance without hesitation.

Chic Central Hotel and Wonderful Staff

My fiancé and I had an exceptional stay at the Renaissance Arc de Triomphe. The hotel is very chic, including a very nice lobby bar and restaurant that serves a very nice breakfast spread. The rooms are quiet and nicely appointed, and the location is excellent, minutes from many wonderful sites in Paris, including the Arc de Triomphe and the convenient subway interchange at the Arc. A special thank you to all of the staff. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating and congratulated our engagement in Paris! Godwin at the front desk was especially wonderful and accommodating with any request we had during our stay. We hope to visit again soon!

Amazing cocktails in Paris!

Lavagna made our drinks and they were spot on! We had a great time! In fact, after trying out so many bars in Paris, nothing matched her expertise and attention. We also happen to stay in the hotel so it is such a huge plus for us! Such great times!
