Airline lost bags- Concierges retrieved them!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

I write this review to honor in particular 2 concierges: Tomas and Camille. Lufthansa had lost my friend's luggage. Both Tomas and Camille went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help her find her bags. Calling the airlines, delivery service, and others to FIND her bag and EXPEDITE delivery. Each and every very time they contacted someone, they returned with clear COMMUNICATION of updates and how they (Tomas and Camille) planned to FOLLOW UP. Truly BECAUSE OF THEM, my friend finally received her bags!!

Tiny rooms, struggling with English, with emails and cleaning

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

To summarise: go stay in some other similarly priced hotel. Pay extra 100€ and stay at Marriott or something. Poor reservations. Struggling with English. Tiny tiny rooms. And you have to fight to get rooms services. Very basic breakfast too. Tiny bathroom. Only suitable for kids or tiny people under 50kg This is my experience so far. 5 of my friends are about to write similar reviews. We have been forced to stay here as a group. The hotel is hiding its emails, struggling with communications and has most ineffective reservation system. To book a room, you have to deal with 4 departments: 1. Reservation people (separate team for each location) - very polite, speak better English but have no access to email and can not take payments. 2. Some other department that has access to emails but can not make bookings and can not take payments. 3. Another department, which can take payments and issue payment links, but have no access to phone and barely speaks any English. 4. And of course before you reach any of these guys, you have to go through an operator. - And this is the single most serious obstacle! Operators don't speak English and send you left and right ad hoc. To wrong location, wrong department etc

Amazing stay

We had a fantastic stay at the Sofitel. The staff was very resourceful and extremely accommodating. We were first greeted by a lady named Cecile who was super sweet. The room wasn't quite ready yet but she did an excellent job taking great care of us. The breakfast program at the hotel is absolutely fantastic. The location is unbeatable. We will be back.

Extraordinary travel experience - 5 stars for Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Oh my goodness - what a stay we had here! I surprised my 12 year old daughter with a visit to Paris - her wish came true and Sofitel Le Faubourg was a very large part of fulfilling her dream. From the moment we arrived we experienced the 'above and beyond' service I had read about. Two very nice gentlemen welcomed us, took our bags and brought us to the reception desk, past a stunning display of dresses in the lobby. We had a very warm welcome by Maria at the front desk who knew we had been to Disneyland prior to coming into Paris and enquired as to how our day there was. We had arrived late morning so our room was not ready (I did not expect it to be!), but Maria offered to book us a table at their restaurant, Blossom. We accepted and were pleased we could get in - the last table! The menu reads beautifully - very fresh, many local ingredients and enough choice without being overwhelming with too many choices. You can tell much thought and love went into this menu. My octopus and cauliflower dish was an unusual choice for me (I wouldn't normally choose seafood), but I was so pleased with it. It was beautifully presented and very tasty - and felt so fresh, light and healthy. My daughter enjoyed her 'kids meal' - a simple salad, steak and fries, and a crepe - her first of many! ;) The service was impeccable. Once we had finished lunch, we were shown to our room. Keeping with the fashion theme throughout the hotel, the corridors feature stunning large black and white prints. I had a tear when we walked into our room because it was so beautiful! The room was elegant and inviting, very light, very Parisian! A great size, we had plenty of space for 2 of us and 2 large cases (and plenty of hand luggage - too much shopping!) with no threat of tripping over anything. Super comfortable beds - like sleeping in a cloud. The soundproofing was excellent - we heard no street noise. Great sleep both nights. Lovely amenities, and very functional room. Everything is well thought out. It was great to be able to open the doors to a small balcony and get some fresh air - and a view down the very cute side street. Breakfast was fabulous. So much choice with the continental buffet, including freshly squeezed juices and super fresh pastries (my daughter was in heaven), and an a la carte selection for hot dishes (try the French toast!). Lovely prompt service for this, and the very important coffee orders ;) Location was very central - approx 5 minutes to Place de la Concorde and Tuileries Gardens, 10 minutes to Angelinas on Rue de Rivoli (for my long awaited eclair!) and 20 minute stroll through Tuileries Gardens to the Louvre. I felt I always had a question for Concierge (sorry Thomas/Tomas!) or the Front Desk team - restaurants, Uber/taxi advice, evening Seine cruise questions, borrowing scissors, storing luggage on last day then using the Wellness Centre to get changed and ready for our evening flight back to Australia ... and every request, every single time, was greeted with a warm, friendly, helpful response. We had a wonderful stay. Can 100% recommend Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg to anyone for their Paris stay; we could fault nothing. Thank you for making our trip to Paris such a special experience - we WILL be back!
