Dirty, Dark and Disappointing!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Booked a 3 bedroom months in advance-upon arrival staff apologized and tried giving us a 2 bedroom, they eventually moved another couple to a different room to give us the rooms we booked. Fireplace, microwave didn't work. One bedroom was freezing and hotel out of extra blankets. Sofa pillows had tears and stuffing coming out. Outdoor fire pit not working so we used the Pendry Hotels fire pit. Restaurant unable to make cocktails so after 30 minutes we gave up. The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location. Hotel is very dated and worn out. Shuttle to Main Street shops only starts at 5 but you have to pre book. Shuttle to the ski area is unreliable and even if you call and order it once it arrives it's a free for all to scramble on and get a spot. We love Park City but we will never stay here again!

Horrible experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Upon check in, we were giving 2 separate 2 bedroom rooms, which don’t work with kids. We booked a 3 bedroom residence, to find out , they rented one of the look out bedrooms to some else! They did not tell the truth to the person who they booked in the one bedroom! One of the bedrooms vents fid not blow hot air, it was freezing cold! They told us they ran out of extra blankets! The microwave digital display did not work! Fireplace quit working! Outside door to rooms did not lock! The refrigerator was iced over in back, exploded out drinks all over in refrigerator! The restaurant was always empty, should have recognized red flag! Attempted to eat there, took forever, the check in staff attempted to make out cocktails from a book, after 30 minutes, we told them to give us out check, please! No fire pits working at resort, had to do smores at the Pendry next door! Shuttle service was very unreliable! Have to preshuttle service! So we ubered everywhere. The hotel is very dated, needs updated! Need new management , maintenance and properly trained staff!!! Feel sorry for the people who own these units!!! One room had 8 dogs with them! ( Yes!! 8 dogs) love dogs, but no the all night barking!!! Run!! Recommend the Pendry, next door!

Very convenient location and well kept facilities

We have been staying here for ski trip once/year for over a decade. We love the location & the services. It’s just 35 minutes from SLC airport and 12 minutes to Deer Valley and Park City ski slopes, 12-15 minutes to fine dining around the mountains and on Main Street. The pool and the hot tub can be fun after skiing for refreshing the muscles. I used the gym only a few times the past 13 years so I can’t remember much. But overall the suites are spacious and the view is soothing.

Amazing experience, especially thanks to Kadeem

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I have to give a major shoutout to Kadeem who checked us in. Not only was everything spotless from the lobby to our room, but he helped us arrange everything from our room upgrade (thanks to being a World of Hyatt member), shuttle service, room service, etc... the entire staff was friendly and helpful every time we had a request. The hotel was decorated for Christmas and felt so cozy. We will definitely be back. Again, major thanks to Kadeem for his hospitality. It was a great experience.

"One of our nicest hotel rooms ever!" Great value!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

On rare occasions, I have been upgraded to the very best room in the hotel including the Presidential Suite; sometimes due to luck & sometimes due to my status with the hotel chain. My family lives in Utah nearby some of the finest ski resorts in the world. Because of this, there are incredible hotels & activities everywhere. I have learned that by booking my hotel rooms during "off season" times when occupancy rates are lower, you can find incredible bargains & prices. In this case, the time frame was several weeks before the Thanksgiving holidays when there was no snow yet. I was looking for a good value during mid week to celebrate a belated anniversary with my wife. I was patient as I looked for a great hotel & a great rate. Checking many different apps, Tripadvisor, etc, I found exactly what I was looking for on my Hyatt Hotel app (it's free to everyone). It was the Hyatt Centric Park City which we had previously stayed at even though it's only a 30 minute drive from our home which is outside of Salt Lake City. I usually don't mention room rates because they vary so much due to a variety of factors; location, occupancy, time of year, etc. The Wednesday & Thursday night rooms were showing at less than $240 a night which is amazing for this type of property. I thought it might be a "mistake" rate but I booked two nights immediately using cash. Prior to our reservation, I called the hotel to ask a few questions & left a voice mail message. A positive & friendly assistant manager, Steven, called me back. He was very helpful in answering all my questions & he asked if we were celebrating anything. I mentioned it was a recent Wedding Anniversary. I told him about our previous stay and I expressed how much I had enjoyed the room we were given at that time. Fast forwarding to the day of our check in, when we arrived by car at the hotel it was very quiet in terms of guests. We were coming at a perfect time. The front desk person said she remembered talking to me on the phone. Steven, the assistant manager, also came by & welcomed us. He said the hotel was upgrading us to a "room/residence with a loft." Well you can tell by the photos I posted it was a fantastic room! My wife was thrilled with the two fireplaces & the washer & dryer. I loved the two huge bathrooms and the upstairs loft. I'm guessing the room was about 1,500, or more, square feet. For what we were paying, I felt very fortunate on the timing of everything. (We had some adult children visit us and it's always nice to have a full kitchen, a dining room, & a living room.) As a World of Hyatt member, my status entitled us to an early arrival time, a room upgrade when available, free breakfast each morning, and a 4:00 pm late check out. I used my Hyatt Business credit card. Everyone at the Hyatt Centric was delightful! (Valet parking, the front desk staff, housekeeping, & especially Steven the assistant manager.) This is a wonderful property which we highly recommend.
