Hacienda AltaGracia, an Auberge Resort

Our stay at Hacienda AltaGracia was nothing short of spectacular. From the amazing on property activities (Ficus Tree climbing was a stand out!) to the amazing food/beverage, everything was a 10/10 for our group. The staff at this resort were particularly friendly and engaging, and on a first name basis with us throughout the stay which was unexpected and made us feel so welcomed. Would very highly recommend this resort.

If you are searching for the perfect getaway to a beautiful all inclusive resort property with an incredible staff of people that make your stay very special each and everyday....Look no further! Hacienda Altagracia in Costa Rica is your destination. We just returned from a 6 night stay to celebrate our anniversary and having never visited Costa Rica, we were very intrigued by staying in the mountains. Auberge Hacienda Altagracia offered exactly what we were searching for with the luxury casita with private heated plunge pool, excellent culinary experiences at each dining venue and the quiet and natural beauty that we wanted to experience. We always love to experience the culture of the country that we visit and interacting with the staff here was wonderful.....Not only did each and every staff member deliver great service but we learned about them and the area around the resort where most of the staff lived and even learned about their families. I am sure Auberge has excellent training programs, but they employed local people who truly embodied "friendly personal service" and we really enjoyed being with the entire staff.....When they greet you upon arrival, you immediately feel like you are part of the family. We are already discussing when we can return to this very special place.

This resort is magnificent. It's lush, remote and sophisticated while still exuding a laid-back vibe. The attention to detail is unparalleled and the service is amazing. The staff are passionate about the property and care about making everyone's stay incredibly enjoyable. The programming and the food are also top notch. I loved the "Art of Cacao" and "Art of Coffee" classes that I couldn't believe were complimentary because they included so much information that helped me appreciate the natural resources of Costa Rica even more. The food focuses on what's natural and local and was very delicious. I particularly enjoyed the changing dinner menu every night and the creative vegetarian options offered by the chef. The Mercado (coffee shop) offers exceptional freshly baked goods, most of which are gluten free and all are served with a smile. Hacienda AltaGracia is truly a special place.

Whether it's a couple looking for a romantic getaway or a family looking for an adventure and fun - AltaGracia has it all. My family just completed an 8-night stay. Highly recommend going in the off-season as the resort is more quiet and serene. Every activity is thoroughly thought out and we did practically everything. Adventures with our kids (5 and 8) included ATV rides through the local towns, horseback riding, night hikes to see wildlife, a ficus tree climb plus an incredible kid's club. For the adults, a relaxing and rejuvenating river bath, spa services, a coffee class that will ruin every other coffee because it's so good and you'll learn the true art of coffee, rum tasting and cocktail making class, and more. The level of service, personal attention and remarkable hospitality make for an incredible time and I couldn't recommend this place enough.
