Here, an ancient patrician villa and its centuries old farmhouses have been converted into a luxurious hotel, offering charm and tranquility together with courtesy and distinction. The Hotel Villa di Monte Solare is nestled in an ancient old olive grove and verdant forest on famed Monte Solare, once home to a sun-worshipping cult during Etruscan times. We chose Relais Villa Monte Solare for our destination wedding and were blown away by the outstanding service of the entire staff as well as the superb food. Our local planner, Alessio, made sure everything was prepared for us as we requested. We had a group of 16. On our wedding day it was raining on and off. Our vision was to have the celebration and dinner outdoors. We waited out the rain and were able to have the experience we envisioned The staff was very patient with us and as soon as the rain was over and the trees stopped dripping they set everything up very quickly. We loved everything about the experience. One of the front desk hosts even lent us her guitar during our stay. We are very grateful for the care everyone took to make our wedding a totally special experience. The bed was comfortable. The rooms were impeccably clean, the breakfast was excellent, the staff took care of our every need. Thank you for everything.

We just celebrated our wedding at the beautiful Villa Monte Solare in September and we cannot speak highly enough of the venue and its staff. From the moment stepping foot on the property over a year ago when we were looking for a wedding venue, we have been treated amazingly by everyone at VMS. The venue itself is great, with a beautiful garden, multiple pools and an amazing spa with heated indoor pool, sauna and steam room. Rooms are spacious, clean and the property is all around beautiful. The food for our entire stay was amazing, both lunch and dinner menu options were delicious. Our guests truly enjoyed the food (and wine) Lastly, we cannot speak highly enough of the staff that welcomed us from the start and went above and beyond during our entire stay. Special thanks to Alessio, Nicola, Giovanni, Jacqueline, Georgia, Virgjil, Francesco, the houskeeping staff, Valentina (at the corporate office), the entire kitchen staff and I am sure I am leaving off some other names that deserve all of our thanks. Thank you all for making our special day as perfect as it was, for us and our guests. Grazie mille and we hope to be back sooner than later, Eric & Marina

A trip down memory lane, we first visited here in Aug 1992 for our honeymoon. 32 years later a lot has changed, expanded of course, but the integrity and charm of the place is still intact. We had booked a classic room but were freely upgraded to a deluxe which gave a nice sitting room, private courtyard terrace, private parking spot, lovely large bedroom and big bathroom. Room 22. Perfect for a family of four. Very close to o e of the swimming pools, and a short walk (uphill) to the main house for the restaurant. Good breakfast Buffet. We didn’t eat lunch here, but had dinner three nights. All delicious and plenty of choice for vegetarians. Very friendly and helpful staff. We didn’t use the Spa.

Another great stay at this very charming and discreet hotel in the glorious Umbrian countryside. We came here 7 years ago and were not disappointed on our return. Rooms are superbly appointed and very authentically Umbrian, with lots of space and great products in the bathroom. There are two beautifully quiet pools on site to serve the different areas of the hotel, as well as a relatively new and very high quality spa with a heated pool and jacuzzi, as well as a sauna and steam room. Dinner on the half-board option was very impressive, as was the wine list. Breakfast was also very nice, although service was sometimes a bit slow and the buffet was sometimes re-stocked rather slowly after busy periods, but it wasn’t a big problem, as long as you’re not in a hurry. Meals were taken in the beautiful courtyard outside the main building, which is a fantastic place to sit and enjoy the fresh air and the impressive gardens. The staff at reception were always extremely helpful and ready with advice if needed, as well as helping us with restaurant and day trip recommendations. The views are too stunning to describe in words. A special hotel if you are celebrating something important or just want a luxurious break somewhere discreet and peaceful.

In June we had a wonderful time in Italy staying at Villa Monte Solare - it exceeded our expectations both for the wonderful food and the exquisite furnishings, let alone the endless courtesies of the owners, Signore and Signora Iannarone. We felt as if we were guests in their home. We have and would recommend the villa to anyone interested in exploring Umbria while staying in a luxurious country estate.
