Great view and friendly service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We had such an amazing view with our room (1011)! We were able to bring our dog with us, which was great and there's a nice park right out front to walk pets. Staff was accommodating and friendly. Bed was comfortable, although I do wish there was an option for non-feather pillows - they're just too flat for my preference. We would definitely stay here again!

HORRIBLE horrible hotel

If I could give this hotel minus stars I would. This is literally the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. We were on a high floor, corner room. The only thing it has going for it was the view which was outstanding. When we got in the room, it seemed clean. However, there was an empty case of Budweiser lying on the floor. It also smelled like cigarettes. The bathroom is very out of date and needs some help. Around 10pm, we noticed some low bass and thought maybe it was coming from another room. Turns out it was from a boat docked below at Penn’s Landing. As the night wore on, the music got louder and louder. You could feel it in your bones. It FINALLY stopped at 2am. We called the front desk and they acted like they didn’t know anything. Meanwhile, I’m now reading the same thing in other reviews. SO noisy. The next evening, we came back to valet our car and no one was around to take the car. We finally found the guy hiding in a little room surrounded by keys on the ground and it reeked of pot! We got to our room to find it hadn’t been cleaned. This was in the evening and we’d been out since 10am. Then we tried calling to get clean towels and coffee and no one picked for a loooooong time. Oh! Almost forgot - the breakfast was disgusting. The eggs literally tasted like fish. How is that even possible? Ugggggggh.

Terrible is a nut shell.

It all looks nice enough - but - No heat on the coldest night of the year. That’s got to be the ultimate sin. I noticed this when I was half asleep at 1030pm. Yes , they offered an engineer but at 1030pm, I did not want “visitors.” They gave an extra blanket. Restaurant. Terrible service. A second cup of coffee is the impossible dream. Food was fine. I will not be back. Overall, the staff was not particularly helpful during my entire stay. Ask about parking. I think it’s $55 per night place tax. Hint - make a left of the parking lot. Go three blocks. $25 per night with in and out privileges. By the way, I’m a diamond member so I stay in hiltons about 50 nights per year.

It’s ok

The hotel was busy upon arrival at 4:30pm and there was a line to check in. The receptionist (I didn’t look at his name) was not friendly. He seemed bothered when I asked him about the parking. The temperature control in the room was not good. It was set to 60 but the room got very hot at times. The temperature fluctuated at night to the point that I woke up a couple of times because it was hot. The air circulation in general was not good. Positives- The bartender (older gentleman) was very nice. We arrived to the restaurant in the lobby after they had stopped seating. However, the hostess was nice and accommodating. She let us put in to go orders and we were able to sit by the bar/lobby area. One of the meals was suppose to Include French fries. I told the hostess that the fries were missing from the meal. She said she would go get the missing fries but she never did. When I reminded her about the fries she said the kitchen had just closed and she wasn’t able to get us fries. The one thing going for this hotel is the location. I would consider this hotel again only for the location.

Superior customer service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

L A Wood was the night supervisor working the desk when I dragged myself in after 12 hours in the car. They helped me with everything from room to parking and were so kind and fair. Such customer service is not common and was very much appreciated!
