Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia

Located in the heart of the historic district of Philadelphia, the hotel is across the street from the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. I found the hotel clean, with some interesting and unique decor, which wasn't to my individual taste, but didn't negatively impact my stay. My room offered a nice view over the area. Size-wise the room was on the tight side, but it was sufficient for my solo stay. The bathroom in particular was quite small, but functional. The bed was comfortable, and service was pleasant.

The decor was well done and architecture charming but the hotel is badly worn and poorly maintained. The Valet and Bell hop staff were good and that's about it. Although nobody was downright rude they weren't cheerful and happy in their jobs. This is a hospitality business and it was MIA and inexcusable for a high end hotel. ALL public contact staff should excel all the time while "on stage"... they didn't. Worn and damaged surfaces, dust lines where the dark carpets (with runs) met the walls were gross, the bed was poorly made, the bathroom soap tray had rust spots, the bathroom mirror glass frame had a broken corner etc etc. This property needs an overhaul. It wasn't just my room (304), we were there with a group for a wedding and the other rooms had similar issues. This is a management issue.

Gorgeous room, Roshid is fantastic and always makes our stays memorable! We love the spa bathroom and the gorgeous decorations in the room! We make the Kimpton Hotel Monaco our yearly anniversary destination! We can't wait to come back next year.

We stayed at Kimpton Monaco on February 14th for Valentine’s Day and we had the best time. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. They give us a complimentary entry to the rooftop lounge which was nice. However, the concierge Mr. Rashid took our experience to a whole new level. His restaurant recommendations were perfect! and the magical touch was what he did with the room. It’s was romantically decorated and far exceeded my expectations and really made the night special for my wife.

We had an amazing stay during valentines weekend. The concierge Mr. Rashid was amazing with helping us plan our evening and stay. He made sure we were comfortable during our stay and really went above and beyond. I can’t wait to visit again..
