Very disappointed; won't return

Once a glorious property, this place has lost its luster. The suite I stayed in was worn and dark. Housekeeping is not allowed to wipe down surfaces during regular housekeeping. The maid actually told us she is not allowed to! Fo the money I spent per night, in excess of $1000, I was disappointed. TCook's was good!

Not like it used to be…

Expectations were not met. Disappointed for sure. Cleanliness, tired décor and predictably dull. But lovely setting which once was amazing we’re certain. Today….just tired and resting on what once was.

Beautiful but busy resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We stayed at the Royal Palms because we were in town for a wedding and the reception was being held here. We had a king casita and when we arrived at 5 PM on a Friday there was a loud event going on in the courtyard just adjacent to our room. Turns out it was a wedding reception. This was a repeated pattern the 4 days we were there. It seems like every large outdoor space was being used for different events and was being constantly broken down and turned over between the events. To the credit of the hotel, the breakdown and set up process was very quiet, but the events themselves meant a very busy resort and we really weren’t able to enjoy the open spaces and beautiful courtyards. The wedding reception we attended there was beautifully done so I can understand why people want to hold events there. However, if you are looking for a place of tranquility, this is not it. We ate brunch twice and the on-site restaurant tea cooks. It was very good. Our room was spacious and had two nice patios for sitting however we couldn’t really use them because there were always events going on right outside. For the high price, I probably wouldn’t return here again because it is more of an event hotel not a vacation hotel.

A Gem!

Royal Palms is one of our favorites in the area. The service is top notch, the grounds beautiful. It feels like a little boutique oasis hidden right in the middle of everything. The pool and spa are nice for the size, but definitely small. This is the place to come for quiet, relaxation, and with your significant other. This was our 5th stay & we keep it in our regular rotation in the area. Highly recommend for couples.

We booked the 4-night package on Luxury Link and it was well worth it. The package was an amazing value! My wife and I spent four days there and wish we could have spent a few more. The food at T. Cook's was the best I have had in a while. The menu also offered a local-products-only meal, which was terrific. The spa was very nice and we fully enjoyed each of our treatments. The rest of the time was spent laying by the pool, shopping in the Scottsdale mall, and playing golf. I would recommend Royal Palms Resort and Spa to any and all.
