Reviews for The Surin Phuket

Still great but losing its appeal.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Many changes since my last visit 4 years before. Still a great place with great staff but they are losing the atmosphere and connection to customers. Many things have gone. No more happy hour before sunset, no afternoon tea, no fun games on the beach. And so much dearer. Bar has lost all atmosphere. It’s a shame. If you’ve never been, then go but many won’t return.

Excellent well run Hotel on an outstanding beach.

Well this is our last night here at The Surin having been here for 6 nights. This is an excellent hotel with such impeccably polite well trained staff. We have been to many 5* hotels and the staff here stand out head and shoulders above every other hotel we have stayed in. Rooms are spacious modern and kept beautiful and cleaned twice daily. Breakfast is very good with a wide selection of worldly food. We ate in the restaurant twice and again superb food well presented and very tasty. Cocktails are fabulous my only gripe being I wish you had a happy hour as most hotels do instead of “ cocktail of the day. “ The hotel is on one of the best beaches in Thailand ( and we have been to many) beautiful fine sand and crystal clear water and although there are no private beaches allowed in Thailand you won’t find any public people on here as it is only accessible through the hotel so it is virtually a private beach shared with the other hotel at the other end of the beach. With the hotel being on a hillside this is not a hotel for people with mobility issues and we did find the steps a bit challenging at times. That said we would come back without hesitation if we visit Phuket again. Thank you to the management and staff for wonderful holiday and we hope to see you all again soon.

Amazing!!

One of the best resorts/hotels we have ever stayed in, truely first class. From the airport pickup, check in, the room, the beach (pristine), the restaurants and all the staff. I couldn’t fault anything. Small touches in the rooms were so well thought of (beach bag, his and hers hats, fans, umbrellas). Mini fridge with free soft drinks, being able to reserve a subbed on the beach for the entirety of your stay-things like this make all the difference. We will be back!! Anyone reading this, don’t hesitate to book.

The best hotel experience ever!

Everything was so amazing. The staff is very kind and helpful, and the service amazing. We could not dream of a better variation. The private beach is like on a bounty Island and the sea is so refreshing and clear. We cannot wait to come back next year

The Surin is wonderful.....but Phuket.....

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Another great stay at the Surin Hotel. This is my second stay, having stayed January 2024. Clearly, I like this place very much having gone back. The place is wonderfully set in a beautiful quiet bay, with excellent swimming. The staff at the Surin are fantastic, helpful, well trained. Faultless. The rooms are wonderfully dovetailed and landscaped into the hillside. I stayed in a beachside villa. Food is wonderful. The staff on every level are superb. So, if you want to go to a hotel and remain in a hotel in Phuket, this is the one. My main issue is that Phuket is a disaster. The traffic is absolutely horrific. The 15k journey to Patong which is 15k will take an hour and sometimes longer. A zillion cars, bikes and all the associated fumes and noise to go with it. A short journey of about 6 miles to play golf, took nearly an hour to get back. I could have stayed in London if I had wanted the nightmare of overcrowding. This is notwithstanding the Russian invasion. The place is overrun with 400,000 (i kid you not) of them, I had been told by numerous drivers of this number. If these people are your thing, great, flock to Phuket and join in. I found it impossible and I mean impossible to find a single local who would say a good thing about them. If you want to stay in the hotel and relax, then the Surin is the place. If you want to get out and about, i'd say DO NOT GO TO PHUKET. Sorry to be so negative, but I can't lie.
