Idyllically set on picture-perfect golden-sanded Karon Beach, Thavorn Palm Beach Resort is just a 10-minute drive away from hopping Patong, yet offers blissful tranquility away from the din of Phuket. Feel right at home upon arrival by being welcomed with a traditional drink and a cool towel to freshen up in the colonial-style lobby. Guests are personally escorted to their rooms while wandering past lotus ponds, lush exotic plants and a variety of wildlife that all make the 25 acres of landscaped grounds a tropical paradise. Designed in Thai décor, the rooms have contemporary teakwood furnishings with private balconies or patios looking out across verdant gardens or the Andaman Sea. Standard conveniences include air conditioning, complimentary WiFi and flat-screen televisions with Smart TV systems.

Had a great time at the resort. Special thanks to Eddie for his hospitality and support. He guided us well. He became part of the family only. It was a wonderful experience. The kids loved the loved.rides, and the food was great. We would love to come back.

The grounds of this hotel are absolutely stunning, you can spend hours walking around looking at the beautiful plants, trees, ponds and statues. It truly is beautiful. It’s lovely to see the little frogs hopping about at night. The petting zoo is a lovely touch and it is open for an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon where people can feed and pet the animals. As it’s just two separate hours a day, this is fair unlike all those ‘ethical’ elephant sanctuaries where 30 tourists at a time are shoving food at elephants all day, everyday, whilst they get poked and prodded to pose for photos before being chained up again. The petting zoo animals are then taken back to their enclosures though I haven’t seen those, but at least they are not being petted all day long. Kid’s club is geared to kids up to around the age of 4 otherwise it’s too babyish for older children. They do however have daily activities such as craft, some are chargeable. There is also an art room and on weekends they have art classes where you can paint a canvas with the art teacher which children and adults can participate in. The slides are fabulous for the kids and kept them busy. There are also inflatable battery operated jet skis available for hire. Breakfast is a good selection with fresh eggs made how you like. I would like to see real honey instead of honey syrup plus muesli/granola daily not just on alternate days. The pizza at the hotel’s Ciao restaurant is very nice. The staff are all attentive and polite and really make your stay enjoyable. We had an issue with the laundry service where an expensive item of clothing was shrunk. At first the resolution wasn’t satisfactory but after some time, a suitable resolution was found, it still didn’t make up for the value of the item but it was a decent resolution, which is the difference between a good and bad customer service. This shows that the hotel has their guest’s interests at heart and we appreciated this though this should have been offered in the first place. If you want to use the laundry service I wouldn’t advise putting anything expensive in there. As with most hotels you can charge food, drinks and activities to your room but once it reaches 5000 baht they put letters under your door to ask you to settle. Also when we charged lunch to the room, they said we have no more ‘credit’ as it was above 5000 so we had to pay for the lunch upfront. This is embarrassing and not very professional but I understand that maybe they’ve had some guests who just don’t pay. There are markets to walk to one you come out of the back of the hotel (beach entrance). When you come out of the hotel, turn left to go to Kata beach where there are lots of markets and food markets along the strip and also a lovely restaurant called ‘On the Rock’ which has lovely views of the beach. I would certainly come back again if visiting Phuket.

Beautiful hotel, open spaces and lots of plants. Many things to do, fun pools and good restaurants. Very clean and comfy rooms. Right on the beach! The best part was the staff, they are so kind and attentive, special thanks to all of them and to Mr.B.Boy :)

Our stay here was simply incredible. We stayed for 8 days, but I could have stayed even longer. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they were quick to answer any questions/concerns. Rooms: as other reviews state, the rooms are a little dated, but they are still clean and we felt very comfortable in ours. Beds are extremely hard-but staff were quick to add toppers to them to make them considerably softer … still probably a little too hard for my liking, but I probably could’ve asked for an extra topper if I had wanted to. But I still got decent nights sleep. The family rooms we stayed in was basic, a Giant king sized bed (larger than the king we have at home) and then a set of bunks in the corner of the room. There was quite often a bit of a yuck drainy smell in the room, I guess that’s because of the age of the hotel? But as like all over Thailand there’s new scents that you have to get accustomed to, and eventually you don’t even notice. The water pressure in the shower was absolutely incredible though, and the maids were efficient at cleaning the room each day-and were so polite about it. Grounds/pools: ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!! These are as amazing and as pretty as all the pictures seen online, if not even better. The pools were so clean, so many choices on which one to use, and the gardens were so beautiful too. Plenty of deck chairs around to use as the hotel is thankfully a little smaller and quieter than other hotels, although the ones around the slide pool do go quickly. But if that happens-it’s a good excuse to use anther pool and appreciate the beauty in that area of the hotel. The Petting zoo was a huge success with the kids too, a very cute addition to what is already an amazingly incredible resort. Breakfast: WOW!!!! This would have to be the most favourite part of our stay. So plentiful, and such a variety!! I was gobsmacked every day. We were clearly spoilt for choice when we went to the Sands in KhaoLak after our stay and we’re disappointed by their breakfasts 😂😂 (which probabky we would she said were amazing if we had not experienced the wonder at Thavorn!!) There is every kind of food you could ever think or hope to eat available here, it’s incredibly fresh, tastes delicious (better than most restaurants!), and the food area inside a temperature controlled room so there’s no fear of the heat spoiling the food…and then you enjoy the food by the view of the waterfall or the gorgeous grounds. This was probably the 2nd highlight of our stay here, second only to the pools/waterslides Location: a walk out the back gate takes you right to the beach across the road, and the water here was incredible. It’s a nice little beach, although the waves are a little choppy, but all you could hope for in a beachside resort. The shopping was a little average around the resort, and we found to be a little expensive too. But plenty of places to get trinkets, snacks and massages - and only a 3-5 minute walk from the back gate of the hotel. Restaurants were a little farther away, between 5-15 minutes for a good one-but if you have a nice big breakfast (easy to do when it’s so incredibly delicious and plentiful) you can usually survive on poolside snacks for lunch, and then just venture out when the sun sets a little and there’s a nice cool breeze down the beachfront walk. It’s such a nice walk At night time, wide street, very well lit, and you feel incredible safe. And if you want to go into Patong for some more plentiful shopping/eating it’s just a short 10 minute taxi/tuk tuk up the road…and very fun to do on a dark night in a brightly lit tuk tuk with your music blaring through the Bluetooth speakers 😂 All in all-this was a fabulous stay in Thailand, and we will definitely come back!
