Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen Resort

Our stay was such a disappointment and we are Hyatt travelers. - Despite asking in advance and assured early check-in, we were checked in after normal check- in time because our room wasn’t ready. - No gluten free options, despite a several months heads up. We were also told repeatedly they would provide GF options in the club lounge, never happened - INSANELY loud “day” club next door that was loud and obnoxious when at the pool, in our room, etc - Repeatedly we were given off information from front desk. - My husband booked scuba through their activities desk, arrived early to participate and the Hyatt “forgot” to pass along his reservation to the second party despite charging us. All in all, major disappointment and we won’t be returning.

I’d love to tell you about staying at this hotel but I can’t because THEY CANCELED OUR RESERVATION. we made spring break reservations months in advance. We get a notice three months before spring break that they are just cancelling our reservation. We were told someone else needed the rooms. Now it’s too late to get anything nice for spring break and we are scrambling to find anything. God forbid it was something like a wedding. Can you imagine being told a few months before the wedding they just canceled your reservation? I wouldn’t book here if you have plans of actually staying there. Customer service was zero help. We tired everything and they told us to f*ck off.

I can’t say enough of this place. Incredible food and the service was amazing. Our server was Augusto and he took care of us. I highly recommend this place. If you want good kosher food make sure to check this place out. The sushi was delicious and the rib eye was perfectly cooked.

Ocean view King rooms are over the pool area so no way to relax and get ready for dinner because of the overall noise and music. At least the music was good but had to turn up the volume on the TV to drown out the noise. Also the room was musty and damp.
