As you know, if you are planning a trip to Catalina Island, you have a host of accommodations and lodgings to choose from. Our group included two couples and after doing many searches, we decided on The Avalon! We struck Gold! What a wonderful, warm charming hotel! The minute we arrived, Evelyn greeted us with warm hospitality! The hotel’s location is perfect and so accessible to the main street as well as sites. The breakfast was outdoors on their secluded patio and it was delicious! The rooms are nicely sized with great bathrooms. It was so nice having a balcony where we could see the ocean! Because we traveled as a foursome, the gate between our balconies was unlocked and we could go from room to room-it was so convenient! Interestingly enough, I needed to to go to the ER. Evelyn was right there and helped us organize a taxi and a hospital visit. We were so grateful for her guidance! All four of us highly recommend The Avalon and look forward to staying there again!

This is a lovely boutique hotel in the center of Avalon. The rooms have a new and fresh look, and a Craftsman design. They either overlook the patio or have a porch with a view of the bay. There is a rooftop patio as well, with a stunning view. In addition, the staff is wonderful. In particular I want to mention Evelyn and Corrina (sp?). They were on top of everything. They had answers to all our questions and were beyond personable. They arranged taxis. They recommended eateries and activities. Wish I could have stayed longer. I wonder how I could life in SoCal for 70 years and this was my first trip to the island. By the way, the weather can be pretty good in February, this is California after all. In February you kind of have the place to yourself. My highlight was dancing with my wife on the circular floor of the ballroom at the Avalon Casino. (It is not a gambling casino and there was no band.) But, it gave you feeling of being there in the Big Band era even though the music was only in our hearts. (O.K. That was a bit much.)

Loved our stay at the Avalon Hotel. The hotel is conveniently located, the staff is warm and inviting, the rooms beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We started each morning with breakfast on the back patio and after adventuring all day, we would come back and enjoy coffee and tea by the fire pit. I highly recommend staying at Avalon Hotel.

best hotel on Catalina island loved it recommended to all my friends and associates. I will always come back here, and also the hotel is pet and family friendly as well, You will love it Marilyn Monroe sits on the beach here as well. I loved the closeness to the ocean, and the accessibility that the hotel provides not to mention the fabulous meals etc.

This property is the absolute BEST! From the friendly staff to the comfortable beds and detailed craftsmanship of the hotel, This hotel is a definite "Must Do" if you're visiting the island. Mere words can't describe the beauty, cleanliness, and great accommodations. This hotel 'is' part of the Catalina Island experience.
