As others have said, the only thing great is the location. Hilton sent me emails the day before saying I could choose my room which I did. They also said I could have "keyless contactless entry" and just go directly to my room. Of course this involved giving my VISA number so they could charge it. My phone just said "preparing your room" all the way until we arrived at 5:30 pm. So we had to go to the front desk and the man at the front desk knew nothing about it and said "well of course you can't just go to your room, you have to pay first!". He then took my credit card and never acknowledged me again because he was too busy flirting with my daughter. There is no parking unless you want to pay $55 nightly valet so we just parked in a local garage. He also put $150 more on my card than my reservation had guaranteed. He didn't mention the reason so when I got to my room and saw I had been charged $575 for two nights instead of $400 (which was only because I was here for a conference. It's usually considerably higher), I had to go back down stairs and another front desk person informed me that was a charge for "incidentals" that would come off when I check out. It would have been nice if the original guy had mentioned that or just gave me any information at all. The room was clean and fairly quiet because we paid extra to get a room on the 20th floor. There is no refrigerator which is frustrating. Overall, I would not stay here again, especially if I had to pay full price.

I’m not a fan of complaints, those normally don’t ever get resolved, just answered with apologies and words that mean nothing and resolve nothing. Upon check in I was told to return to the front desk to get a Senior discount and a discount from AAA. Got a few text messages telling me that indeed they would give discounts without any issues. Upon check out not one person knew what I was talking about even after showing them my text messages from the Hotel about discounts. Then I was told that discounts were only found on line while booking. I told them that not every senior has the ability to go to web sites or even look up anything on a computer. Even in this age, some seniors struggle. Their breakfest was high in cost considering that even the Hilton Embassy’s across the country have free breakfest for their guest and offer free parking. Which was very very high. In fairness, the room was comfortable but I wouldn’t suggest staying at the Hilton if your a Senior or Military for that matter. Absolutely no direction in resolving issues of this kind. The cost was Extraordinarily high cost.

We stayed at the Hilton Portland Downtown and the accommodation was superb. Eric Straub was at the front desk and went above and beyond to ensure that all our needs were met in addition to giving us ideas for restaurants. We misplaced our hotel keys several times and Eric continued to reissue new ones. Eric is definitely an asset to the Hilton Hotel chain.

I have never been so furious or felt so helpless in my entire life! I checked in at the Hilton Portland Downtown on September 14th, only to have one of my three shipped packages—a suitcase—lost by the hotel. Not only did they fail to take any responsibility or compensate me, but every staff member I spoke with, including front desk clerks, package receivers, security personnel, the security manager, and the lobby manager, showed zero accountability. I explicitly told them that if any additional packages arrived for me, they must be refused and returned to the sender, as I was aware a delayed package would not arrive during my stay. The merchant assured me that if the package was refused, it would be returned, and I would be refunded. But on September 16th, despite my clear instructions, the hotel signed for my package, causing me further distress! The security manager had promised me an update on my lost package, but on the 16th, I heard nothing. I called again, and the call was forwarded to the lobby manager, who assured me they would handle the situation and discuss how to return the wrongly accepted package. Yet, even today, I have not received a single email or response. When I called on the 17th, it seemed like I had been blacklisted—no matter what I tried, my calls would not go through! This was only the beginning of my nightmare at this terrible establishment. The hotel was cramped, claustrophobic, and filthy. To make matters worse, there was an unbearable noise throughout the night that made it impossible to sleep. I contacted the front desk around 1:30 a.m. on the 15th, and they assured me someone would come to check on the noise issue. I waited from 1:30 to 2:10 a.m., and no one showed up. I called them two more times, and I got the same empty promises. Exhausted, I finally managed to fall asleep, but only for 3-4 hours of shallow, restless sleep due to the noise! Until the day I checked out, they took no action, nor did they inquire about my satisfaction, as if my wasted 40 minutes waiting at 1:30 a.m. and my entire sleepless night were irrelevant to them! This ruined my entire trip, and their empty promises only added insult to injury. If you have any self-respect or value your peace of mind, stay FAR AWAY from Hilton Portland Downtown. I wouldn’t wish this experience on my worst enemy!

The hotel conveniently located for a conference I am attending this weekend. The rooms are well kept, clean & tidy with air conditioning. I had a dip in the spa & pool which was lovely and refreshing. Hardly anyone in the space when I was down there. The gym also has ample amount of gear to get a sweat on!
