All of the staff were excellent and very attentive from reception, restaurant, concierge and bar. The room was clean and the bedding was great. They even provided me with a converter for me to use. The dinner menu was varied and the food was well prepared and presented. Nice stay after a long day of travel.

For the most part, it was ok but for a five star hotel, there were areas that did not meet the price we were being charged. Concierge was great in some areas, but got e-mails wrong that we needed on multiple occasions but in other areas, they were fine.

First-class, five-star hotel ideally located in Porto—Warm wishes to the staff of this beautiful hotel. Large rooms, perfectly maintained. Beware: The construction of a new subway line in central Porto adds to the general traffic congestion in Porto; it can be quite heavy at times in and around the hotel. But relax and enjoy your stay at this wonderful hotel.

This is a great hotel for exploring Porto, it has a central position, the building itself is stunning and the staff could not be more helpful. The location means that everywhere within Porto is no more than 25 minutes walk away whether that be the Port cellars in the Gaia or the excellent seafood at the Market of Bolhao.

Just returned from an active trip to Porto, Portugal, stayed at this Hotel. It was one of the few recommended hotels in a group of American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts collection. Based on prior experiences with this program, I felt confident that this property would be as advertised and a spectacular property. The hotel is beautiful once you enter the front doors and walk into the lobby. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and the hotel is in excellent condition, on the inside. Rooms are very well equipped, furnished well, but internet quality is quite spotty and inconsistent at times. High ceilings and well appointed rooms are what you'd expect. What I did not expect on my first visit to Porto was to discover a giant public works project to reconstruct the main train center in the central part of the city, next door to the hotel, with cranes, front loading equipment, and giant contruction project right in front of the hotel entrance that snarls traffic, emergency vehicles, police, buses and traffic. Then entire front of the building faces this mess and if you have any difficulty with noise, sleep or concentration, this hotel is not a good choice until this project is completed. During our 4 night stay, construction crews and equipment were humming away 24 hours/day, not just 7am-7:00 pm, as might be expected at best. The hotel, in fairness, has no control over this enormous project, started in 2021, with no end in sight. It would be of benefit to at least give travelers some heads up that this project will effect your stay getting to and from the hotel via car, cab, bus due to aweful traffic jams as a result of this project, not to mention the noise issue while you're in your room if you're unlucky enough to have a "City" view, which is about 1/2 of the rooms in the hotel. If you can overcome these issues, the rest of the hotel is lovely, centrally located and the amenities are on target for a quality property.
