We stayed here 10 years ago and decided that, as we needed a few days of luxury, to go back. Almost nothing had changed in that time. The hotel is still quintessentially elegant with fabulous staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and are unfailingly both friendly and very helpful dealing with every request promptly. The hotel is in a superb location, down a secluded and quiet cul de sac, very secure because of the constant police presence due to the nearby American Embassy, and yet only a few minutes walk to the castle or Charles Bridge taking you to the city centre. They very kindly upgraded our room and we had fabulous views over the city. Prague is a wonderful city for a short city break. The highlight of our stay was a night at the Opera House, absolutely superb production of La Boheme. To eat out try the nearby U Glaubicu, fantastic atmosphere, great choice of food and very good value.

I had a business meeting and they helped me. The Slovak front desk lady is very nice, last time I spoke with Ukrainian lady, the hotel is kept clean it smells like fresh roses, nothing artificial. Never used their spa, but would like to.. maybe next time ..

We stayed for 5 nights at the hotel. It is near the American Embassy which has 24 hour armed guards …so no problem with crime or speeding cars. It is also close to St Vitus and the castle complex. Initially we had a room that overlooked an (occasionally) very loud alley way. After discussing our lack of sleep with the office staff, they quickly changed us to another room. The beds and room configurations are comfortable. The hotel is about 500 years old and has a unique historic charm. If you have mobility issues, you might find getting in and out of the tub/shower difficult. The public areas and rooms are decorated with a lot of gold Rocco furnishings. The included breakfast was good and the 4:30 included wine & cheese hour was a lovely surprise. The first morning we ate breakfast, I commented to a staff member that the eggs, baked beans, bacon, etc. was not hot. We didn’t have that problem again after that. The staff were all lovely, welcoming and attentive to the needs of the guests. I would definitely stay at this hotel again when we come back to visit the jaw dropping beauty of Prague.

My wife and I stayed at the Alchymist Grand Hotel for five nights in early October, 2024. What a wonderful experience! The staff was so friendly and helpful. We had the Terrace Junior Suites. We loved the opulent decor throughout the hotel and the dining room. We really enjoyed the patio area. The location is a short wall from the Charles Bridge and many attractions. The hotel is in a very safe area near the US Embassy. We felt perfectly safe walking the neighborhood streets at night. Prague is such a beautiful city to visit. The breakfast buffet was an absolute treat each morning.

The hotel did not have air conditioning in the rooms. Although it is October, I wanted to relax and catch up on sleep in a dark air-conditioned room. Instead, I slept with an open window and was woken up during the night by the construction workers (in the nearby building) in the morning and by the clock tower that kept on tolling every hour. This was extremely disappointing. The hotel said that the air conditioning was turned off to save on electricity costs - this is unacceptable for a 5 star hotel that charges high rates for every night stay. My request to turn air conditioning on was denied and the staff explained that it’s the policy. Although the hotel is beautiful and the breakfast was delicious - I did not rest well and did not get enough sleep.

On arrival at the Prague airport we were greeted by a driver from the hotel and whisked off to the hotel - this was a great stress-free way to arrive. We were shown around the hotel, a rather baroque Central European fantasy. Our room was a Junior Suite, which consisted of a large bedroom and living area with original wooden beams, glass chandelier and gorgeous king-size bed, as well as a lovely marble bathroom. Both of us were treated to exquisite body massages and afterwards, we relaxed in the spa with its pool, sauna and steam room. We had a voucher towards dinner in the hotel's Aquarius Restaurant. We opted for a wonderful 7-course tasting menu, a nice little bit of everything! The service and staff were exemplary. In fact, the staff were the most efficient and polite I've found in a hotel in a VERY long time. The hotel itself is in a great location - just enough away from the main tourist drag to be quiet, but is still easy enough to walk to all the main points of interest.

Service, luxurious and magnificent surrounding and accommodations are very important. My wife and I set off on an eight country European summer adventure and were overwhelmed by the Alchymist staff and hotel accommodations. Our suite was magnificent and the staff was superb. The crowning achievement however was the dinner in one of the most magnificent settings I have seen. The Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa's Aquarius restaurant is worth the trip to Prague alone. No wonder this hidden jewel is a favorite of celebrities! Well deserved and bravo again to the staff.
