Reviews for Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa

Hidden gem

We had been to Prague several times, staying in the Old Town. I found this hotel on line and loved the style and we weren’t disappointed. Absolutely fantastic in every way. Breakfast was excellent. A nice extra touch was the opportunity for a free glass of wine late afternoon. Prague is a small city so all tourist hotspots are within walking distance. The hotel has a restaurant which has an Italian / Czech menu. Not a vast choice but it was a good restaurant with friendly staff.

Beautiful hotel

On arrival it felt a grand hotel, staff were so attentive and polite. We had room 102 and 219, both were stunning and had all amenities. The spa was relaxing and peaceful. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of choice. Would absolutely have no hesitation to recommend this hotel, walking distance for sightseeing and a beautiful, peaceful setting.

Beautiful hotel but.......

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Positives... Stunning hotel Negatives... Junior suite with terrace... premium rate. I know you can't move the building but maybe drop the price a little for a terrace without sun. Some staff rude.. not all attentive Swimming pool cold for a spa I would expect a hotel of this standard to have a warm pool possibly with jets that work. Excessive rate for early late check in/out Paid premium price for this hotel to be disappointed Charged for mini bar items that we didn't use.. thus was amended but they still tried to rob us more!! A luxury hotel without any little extras and happiness thrown in

An extraordinary experience. Don't miss!

Walking into the Alchymist is like arriving at an oasis. We stayed in a Junior Suite with terrace for a week and from start to finish our experience was exceptional. The decor throughout is exquisite - beautifully curated by the Italian owners. Rooms have all mod cons, 24/7 room service, TV apps, great WiFi connectivity. We had 4 wonderful treatments in the serene surroundings of the extensive and beautiful spa, which has a small pool, saunas, and relaxation areas. Wide range of well presented and delicious hot and cold food for buffet breakfast - bottomless Proseco was a great touch. We don't usually eat in Hotel restaurants, but we enjoyed a fabulous meal in the Alchymist main restaurant one evening - so I recommend you give it a go. The Hotel has a perfect location in Prague - 10 minute stroll from Charles bridge and a 10 minute walk (steep) to the Castle - and the staff could not be more attentive and helpful.

Baroque and then some...

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Wow! What a treat! This hotel is quite unique, with its baroque architecture and interior design. We slept in the grand Royal Suite 103. The room was fit for a king, and of course, the grand four poster bed is very special. Staff were delightful and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Our stay was an experience, and we will cherish the memories!

On arrival at the Prague airport we were greeted by a driver from the hotel and whisked off to the hotel - this was a great stress-free way to arrive. We were shown around the hotel, a rather baroque Central European fantasy. Our room was a Junior Suite, which consisted of a large bedroom and living area with original wooden beams, glass chandelier and gorgeous king-size bed, as well as a lovely marble bathroom. Both of us were treated to exquisite body massages and afterwards, we relaxed in the spa with its pool, sauna and steam room. We had a voucher towards dinner in the hotel's Aquarius Restaurant. We opted for a wonderful 7-course tasting menu, a nice little bit of everything! The service and staff were exemplary. In fact, the staff were the most efficient and polite I've found in a hotel in a VERY long time. The hotel itself is in a great location - just enough away from the main tourist drag to be quiet, but is still easy enough to walk to all the main points of interest.

Service, luxurious and magnificent surrounding and accommodations are very important. My wife and I set off on an eight country European summer adventure and were overwhelmed by the Alchymist staff and hotel accommodations. Our suite was magnificent and the staff was superb. The crowning achievement however was the dinner in one of the most magnificent settings I have seen. The Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa's Aquarius restaurant is worth the trip to Prague alone. No wonder this hidden jewel is a favorite of celebrities! Well deserved and bravo again to the staff.
