Nothing stood out. The location was perfect and ideal for everywhere you’re going by foot. Our service was very below average. We were guaranteed early check in (before 3pm), arrived after normal check in at 4pm and were asked to wait almost 30 minutes so that they could finish our room. Don’t even bother trying to use your hotel phone, we tried multiple times with no answer so we just went downstairs to ask for more towels (since they took ours after used and didn’t replace them). Overall subpar. Nothing special, poor service.

We stayed at the Andaz Prague for 3 nights in an Andaz Suite between Christmas and New Year. We used Hyatt points to upgrade from a regular room to a suite (which I now kinda regret). On the whole we enjoyed our experience there, however there are something’s to note. The Andaz Suite had separate sleeping and living areas. The living area included a large sectional couch and a dining table for 4. The bathroom had a shower, tub and double vanity. Water pressure was excellent. The bed was very comfortable with down pillows and blanket. I should also note that the side of the hotel overlooking the square was perfectly quiet. What we liked: - The staff at the Andaz Prague are all genuinely nice. We were always greeted with a smile and staff were eager to help. - Overall, the hotel is beautiful. The building itself is old, but has been recently renovated from top to bottom. In my mind it is the best of all worlds as is a cool blend of old and new. - The location is good - let’s say 8/10. I was initially a bit concerned that we were too far from the action, but you are 5 mins from the Powder Tower and a large shopping mall, 10 mins walking to the the Old Town Square with the astronomical clock, Gothic church and the town hall. In 15 mins, you can walk to the Jewish quarter. For the castle and Charles bridge, we took an Uber from the hotel to the Schwartzenberg Palace in front of the castle and then walked down hill back to the hotel in a very leisurely two hour walk. The neighborhood of the hotel is very nice with plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes nearby. - Zem is a good restaurant. The restaurant bills itself as an avant-garde fusion of Czech and Japanese cuisine. While I am not sure how avant-garde it is, it was certainly tasty. I would highly recommend the beef tartare, kimchi squid, the short ribs and the duck ‘buchta’ (soooo yummy!). We also tried some of the Czech wines as well, which we enjoyed. What we did not like: - This was our first stay at an Andaz and we learned that this brand does not have dedicated concierge teams, but instead relies on the front desk to help you. The long and short is that while they will try to help you, they will not make reservations and don’t have the deep knowledge that a concierge normally would. I sent e-mails to the Andaz in advance of your arrival asking for thoughts on restaurants, etc., I never received a response. :-( - As mentioned previously, the Andaz Suite includes a large sectional couch. It is the most uncomfortable couch we have experienced in a hotel. As we sometimes like to chill and watch TV, this was not an option in the living room. Note that this big green couch is used in most of their suites. Looks, pretty, but.. - The bedroom of the Andaz suite is small - barely enough room for the bed and two side tables. In fact, I believe the bed is actually a queen rather than a king, as their website suggests. - Between the unusable couch and the queen sized bed, I feel like the Andaz Suite was a waste of points and I should have stuck with a larger king room.

Beautiful hotel, large guest rooms with modern bathrooms. As with many similar cities in Europe, service uneven at best - some good help, some poor help, some good service, some bad service. Regardless though we had a great time and would happily stay there again

The rooms are beautifully appointed. However, we booked a suite and there was not even a set of drawers for our clothing. The mini fridge doesn’t have any snacks or alcohol and the room service menu is very limited. I was very surprised that there were no doormen waiting at the front of the hotel to greet/assist guests. Over all the staff is very very friendly and wants to do well, however they are definitely short staffed. I would not stay here again given what we paid.
