Steeped in history, Prague also has a rich contemporary cultural life. Capturing this modern spirit is Hotel Maximilian, which immerses you body and soul in the cityâ€(TM)s multi-layered atmosphere. This delicious property resides on HaÅ¡talská, one of the oldest streets in Prague, just a few steps from the Old Town Square. A designer blend of chrome, glass and wood enhance the striking interior, whose features range from a library filled with the works of Czech authors to an engaging Winter Garden restaurant.

Communication was flawless. Staff was great, helpful and friendly. Rooms look great on paper, but rather small and some not very functional eg bathroom door that doesn't click. I like the mattress but we think the pillows are the worst we have ever had in a hotel. Lighting also not great. Breakfast was good and has enough variety for a 2-3 night stay. However, on the last day, I came in around 9:40 and bread station was empty and never refilled. Thankful for the quiet nights, but lacking the oomph that makes this a 5* review

A really lovely hotel! Beautiful design, gorgeous teal green rooms and very clean. The only reason Im not giving a 5 star is that the tv in the room is below par compared to everything else. It’s not a smart tv. If you’re an English speaker and you like to relax in the evening with a film when you travel it’s not possible. I even brought a chrome cast in the hope it could be connected but no luck. All you have available are films dubbed in Czech or German. If they upgraded this I’d be back.

By far the best hotel we stayed in our two-week, three country, European journey. Well run, with friendly, helpful staff, in a good location near the Old Market Square (a eight- to ten-minute walk), Charles Bridge, and a tram station (two- or three-minute walk) which we took to the funicular, Ledesky park and the palace/St. Vitus cathedral. Also, check out the #194 bus that passes directly in front of the hotel. (Perk – seniors 65 and over ride for free on the tram and buses; remember to carry a picture ID in case anyone checks which no one did during the several rides we took.) Our room (#206) for four nights was on the second floor (the third floor for Americans; there is an elevator, but it does not go to the top floor) and had a nice balcony looking out onto the church across the street. The balcony had a table and two chairs. The room was spacious by European standards with a comfortable king bed (not a fan of the pillows though), table and chair with banquette sofa, plenty of outlets (including USB charging ports in one of the outlets), small refrigerator stocked with free beverages (no mini-bar), and a drawer with a hotpot for making tea and coffee. Even the safe and the closet had outlets in them. There was a blackout curtain and the room was quiet. Wifi was adequate and free. AC worked well. The bathroom was large with sufficient shelves for storing cosmetics. Shower, no bath, which was fine with us. Like many European hotels, washcloths were not provided. Our room rate included breakfast which was served in a room off the reception area and adjacent to a nice library and garden area. Breakfast was terrific – plenty of fruits and items on the buffet and you could also order egg dishes, such as omelets, eggs Benedict, eggs Florentine, and eggs in a glass, and a vegan option, from the menu at no extra charge. Service was prompt and, much to the delight of my wife, coffee refills came swiftly. One of the buffet items was French toast cut in cubes with lots of sugar which you must try – the waiter said the recipe was a secret. The library was an inviting place to sit and write in our journals and read. It had an honor bar with alcohol and mixers. The in-house brasserie served as a welcome oasis after walking and traveling around the city. Drinks, lunch and dinner (tables on the sidewalk were an option) were reasonably priced and the food was good. Can’t say enough about the staff. All our questions and requests were answered with a smile and a genuine desire to help. The Maximilian appears well managed with thought given to the needs of travelers. We highly recommend the Maximilian for your stay in Prague.

The door to my room was broken, so you couldn’t double lock it. But it also didn’t close unless you pulled it shut. The housekeeper left my room open all day for two straight days. They didn’t fix the door, despite me telling them three days in a row that they needed to. The AC was awful - never gets cold enough in the room. And the natural light in the room was poor. I was there for nearly a week and when it’s that long, you can’t have these problems with a room. They didn’t do anything about it and I won’t be returning to this hotel unfortunately. To top it off, they didn’t replenish the minibar twice.

Great hotel with super location. The service was very good and the food and breakfast was very good. The hotel has a cooperation with Hotel Josef which was only 200m away for a good gym. It is also very easy and nice to take a run by the river from the hotel.
