Reviews for Alexandra Resort

Kind staff. Unusual for Providenciales,.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 hours ago

The positive is that the property has a kind and helpful staff. The location is good. The food is below average. The rooms, although renovated, are a bit depressing and non descriptive. It looks and feels like a motel. The beach is in a prime location.

Looks nice but hard to stay here

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 14 hours ago

I have been coming here since 2011 I own a studio here but I was visiting my timeshare for week 1. The renovations they did in 2023 look nice. but made the unit essentially very difficult for people that are not body builders. (Apparently, ADA is not a thing here). The whole unit is difficult. We can barely move the dining chairs because they are so heavy. They put the coffee cups and most of the dishes at ankle level, such that you almost have to kneel to get them out of the cupboard. The microwave requires a genuflection to access it and you can't see the controls. Although I have been Catholic, I don't remember having to genuflect to access hot liquids. They removed the dishwasher and the oven which I always used all week long. There is no dish drainer. They put the glass dishes above my head so far I can't take them out of the cupboard above the frig without climbing on a chair I can't lift anyway. Most all the furniture is actually solid but that's part of the issue - so solid you can't lift or access them. I can't get the drawers opened with the small access holes and tight springs holding the drawers shut. The bedroom is dark because of no overhead lighting, so you can't read in the evening in bed. The corner chair were I used to park to use my laptop and read has a ottoman so tall and scratchy (jute of some sort), that it's painful to put your feet up. This is sad because it was my favorite spot. The smart TV only has cable but I was hoping to stream my shows. This doesn't work here and I can't cast from my phone either. The guest bedroom bed is so close to the closet, you can't access the contents of the closet. The main bedroom closet is farcical. The hangers are too wide, so the door doesn't want to close but it also won't open if there is a drawer open. The washer makes an airport / spaceship sound so loud you can't do laundry after hours. The food,,, well let's just say it went downhill since 2022 and it's now required even for timeshare guests. We were not able to get to all the fake restaurants that are listed (never found a sushi place and there are others listed that don't exist). The price went up and you think they would have conch here. - this is TCI the conch capital of the world and there is NO CONCH. I had conch chowder that had no actual conch lol. We have tried all week to get reservations to Fire and Ice and at 630 in the morning, you can't sign up for dinner any day that we tried. We finally went to the desk to complain. We will see if that gets rectified. There is something fishy that we can't go to all the places in the resort system 7 days per week.... hmmm The BBQ was very good (the skewers are very good). The Fish and chicken BBQ was also very good. Breakfast is MEH. Fish deck was great 2 years ago. Not so much this week. Let's say the food and service can't both be great at the same time. Missing beverages or repetitive menus you had 2-3 days before. They did a lot of work on the landscaping and the food trucks (that are not actually real food trucks) were a good addition. The above was 2024 and we are back in 2025 and the access to the restaurants is worse than last time. We prepay A LOT of money for food but they don't let you access the restaurants until the same day. Is that not ridiculous? We depend on you for food and you are keeping the food from prepaying customers. Smoothie bar out of 2/3 of the ice cream listed. Out of many components of their dishes. Come on...ice cream. Get it right. I have no Kool aid pitcher for my home provided cold brew. I called on my cell phone. The room phone doesn't work. I can't access the IP address to cast my phone to the TV. What gives? No pitcher for the 2nd day. I could go to the Do It center and get 10 pitchers. The RO water spigot is a fabulous addition. The bathroom mirror lights are very good and essentially the bathroom is the only room that is not messed up lighting wise, although if you use the rain shower feature, you get water all over the bathroom floor because the door is too wide. The least they could have done is put more outlets in the bathroom, but that did not change, so we have to rotate what we plug in there. Overall there are too few outlets for this day and age with personal electronics. There are no USB outlets like most hotels have. Combined with the rain shower leaking it is probably a safety issue.

Great trip with family and friends

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

My family of four (kids 7 and 11) visited this hotel in early November with friends and we really enjoyed our stay. Some of the highlights - The rooms are large and have ample amenities for a family of four, especially the two bathrooms. We found the food overall to be very good and sometimes great. Our faves were the truck stop for lunch and the steak grill for dinner, and the breakfast buffet and beachside buffet were very good. We also liked the ability to go to Blue Haven via the shuttle for the day or for a meal. It's a beautiful property, but definitely more quiet! The entertainment team was great, both during the day and evening, but would have loved to see more volleyball/soccer, etc. for the kids during the day. Some of the staff were really great, including Marisol, Priscilla (went above and beyond both before and during our trip), Karl at the restaurants, and Cheeky and the other female day entertainer (can't remember her name but she was so full of life!). Some of the areas where there can be improvement - the main restaurant for lunch was very slow and often got our orders wrong, so we much preferred the beachside buffet and truck stop. Towels were often an issue, especially in the room. We were never given enough and often had to call for more, and sometimes they never arrived. Robes in the room would be a nice touch. There was also a metal bar that stuck out from the mattress which was a serious hazard. Additionally, while the beach and ocean are absolutely beautiful, the hotel advertises a water trampoline. We asked several times where it was, and continuously received the runaround, so it was never out during our 7 day stay, unfortunately. Also, the water sports guys probably could make a bit more effort (for example, help bring the paddle boards to the ocean). The lobby is basic and does not make a good first impression for the hotel, but I believe construction is underway to remedy that, and lastly, the gym could use a sprucing up! Overall a really great stay and looking forward to going back in the near future.

all inclusive

This place was lovely. The food was good and the beach beautiful. Lots to do Sylvie and the jerk chicken lunch spot made the best chicken . Be sure to try it if you get there. She puts a lot of special care into her cooking and it is delicious and there is always a lineup at lunch time.

Our vacation to Turks & Caicos, a celebration of my wife’s 78th birthday.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

My wife and I visited this all-inclusive resort for eight days in December 2024. The resort is expensive, as we selected an ocean-front room with a balcony. The initial room they gave us was on the second floor, and had a so-so view of the beach and water. The manager willingly accommodated my request to move us to a room with a more expansive view of the beach and water. We got a one bedroom suite on the 4th floor. This room was spacious, comfortable, and modern. It included a king bed, sofa, kitchen, dining area, two TVs, washer and dryer, safe, etc. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony that gave us an excellent view of picturesque Glacier Bay. Almost all the employees were courteous and helpful and provided excellent service. The food was good, especially at the Black Rock restaurant (ribeye steak and salmon). The pool and surrounding area and landscape were adequate. We went on a private four-hour island tour with D.C. He was an excellent tour guide, engaging and informative. We ate at the Conch Shack, pricey but super good. Reception at the resort recommended D.C. I walked to downtown that has several quality shops and restaurants. The only drawback was a major one in that my wife is handicapped, and there is no beach access for handicapped guests at the resort. One path had 16 stairs, and the other path had a steep downward walkway then several large uneven rocks before getting to the sand. Although we enjoyed our visit to the resort, we probably would not return because my wife was unable to get to the beach. A
