Grand Hyatt Shanghai is once the landmark in the financial district of Shanghai. The hotel entrance is next to the Jin Mao Tower, which has a tourist platform at the 88th floor. The hotel is co-located with an office building from 2-53th floor. There is also a Chinese Construction Bank branch at the 1st floor of Jin Mao Tower. The hotel is about 10min walk to the Lujiazui subway station (line 2 and line 14). The lobby of the hotel is at the 54th floor, and the guest room is upwards. The guest rooms are stacked in circular fashion around the hotel, and forms a stunning view when you look up from the lobby/restaurant, or when you look down, say at the balcony from the 80th floor. We have been assigned a room with the river view. The view of the hotel room is stunning. In particular, we have been intrigued by the Golden Landmark Tower, which is a $2 billion landmark at the premium Lujiazui location that is never finished (you can see broken window at the ground floor, and board up window at the top of the building). Also, this is the building that stays pitch black at night, in sharp contrast with the beautifully lit up buildings nearby. The room of the Grand Hyatt is a bit dated though, and the bed is on the smaller side.

The experience was great. Given Grand Hyatt is an iconic place in Shanghai catering to both business and tourists. I urge hotel guest and visitors to be more patient during peak hours. I read earlier feedbacks of the hotel. I feel that some expectations are rather ridiculous. They are running a business. It is a popular hotel in Shanghai. Do be patient and courtesy to staff especially after a long flight. I LIKE to give credits to cleaning lady of Room 6504, Ricky, Gordon and drivers of the airport transfer. They services were spectacular. I will definitely chose Grand Hyatt for my next visit.

The Grand Hyatt was wonderful. I wish we had more time to stay and enjoy the amenities. There is free breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner, and drinks. Also, the pool and hot tub were so relaxing. The only feedback I have is that the internet was very spotty during my stay. But otherwise, I had a wonderful experience and will consider coming back to the Grand Hyatt next time.

Very dated and service is not up to par vs the Grand Hyatt brand. Spa pool all closed during the week I visited due to maintenance. No hot water between 9am-5pm for 1 week due to maintenance. This is a 3 stars hotel at best and recommend to stay at Ritz Carlton next door for a much better experience.
