Best Vacation EVER

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Best vacation experience we have ever had, and we have traveled quite a bit. The staff is incredible and the tour guide worked with us to make our visit efficient and enjoyable in regards to sight seeing. We will definitely be back and also plan on visiting the other hotel locations.

Guaranteed to be a trip of a lifetime!

This was our third stay at an Awasi property after traveling to the properties in Patagonia and Atacama a couple years back and Iguazu did not disappoint! The highlight of our trip was our guide, Annelisa, who was incredibly knowledgeable and catered our excursions to make the most out of our trip. My husband and I love Awasi because they really can provide a full spectrum of adventure depending on your interests. We told Annelisa that we were up for anything and wanted the full experience, so one morning we left the hotel at 3:50AM in order to be at a state park an hour or so away when the sun rose. This allowed us to be in the middle of the jungle surrounded by all of the amazing sounds as the fauna "woke up". As we were hiking, we stopped to watch a manakin do a little dance on a tree branch and as we were watching, we heard a jaguar down on the bank of the river (thrilling!). Also ask your guide about a 'trick' that ensures you are all alone (before all the tourists arrive) to view the Argentine side of the Devil's throat waterfalls! In addition to the incredible adventures, Awasi Iguazu's hotel staff and dining was of the highest quality. Tasting menus with wine pairings every dinner, room service at any time and a wonderful staff that goes out of their way to make your trip special. I highly recommend any Awasi! It's expensive, but worth every penny as it delivers unparalleled experiences that you'll remember for a lifetime!

Gorgeous!

We have stayed at the Awasi Atacama and this one was even more luxurious, though the guide less good. Absolutely beautiful villa with everything we could want, comp wine and soft drinks in the fridge, relaxing deck with very warm plunge pool and immaculately serviced. Our villa was quite close to the main area and a couple of minutes pleasant walk through the lush grounds, but buggies are available if you want a lift. The food was excellent. Lunch remained the same menu with daily specials and dinner changed every night. A mixture of imaginative local dishes and more familiar European ones. The wine choice was exceptional - a large and well thought out list, all available by the glass and all included. The staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient. Our 2 visits to the falls were of course outstanding, the other activities we did were much more low key. A delightful visit to a humming bird garden, a pleasant boat ride with drinks and snacks to where the 3 countries meet and a very boring short hike through forest. We didn’t want to do a full day tour as they looked very long and we wanted time to enjoy the lodge as well, nor were we interested in long hikes or kayaking, so choices became more limited.

More than wonderful - one of the best anywhere in the world

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

Everything was more than wonderful. The staff are what makes a place and all the staff from the GM down were friendly attentive cheerful and doing an excellent job. The whole resort is stylish and carefully designed but all with purpose - no silly design quirks - well considered and thought through. The villa was wonderful - good size lots of storage and everything you would expect. Mini bar / coffee machine / teas etc Large bathroom again with everything needed - own brand organic locally produced toiletries. The room was serviced whenever we went out. The trips arranged as you like. One driver one guide - both excellent - with you for the whole stay.
