The Waldorf in Cancun could not get enough stars from us- if there was 100/5 I would give them that Every staff member went out of their way to make sure our stay was exceptional. The food was amazing at every restaurant. The rooms were beautiful

Our room was immaculate. Definitely a 5 star experience for cleanliness and amenities. The little touches Alison left behind for us in our room were fantastic. From the teddy for our 4 year old to chocolates it was definitely a stay to remember. Thanks Alison

My husband, our dog, and I recently stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Cancun. The property is stunning, with spacious rooms and an incredibly dog-friendly atmosphere. We loved how our fur baby could accompany us almost everywhere, which made the experience unique and special. They were great about upgrading our room for being Hilton Diamond members. However, there were notable drawbacks that affected our stay. Food and Dining While the food was decent, the limited options on the property left much to be desired. One of the restaurants, J’ao, was supposed to be open every evening but was closed on a Wednesday, contrary to the website and online schedule. We often chose to leave the hotel for meals, where we found better options outside. Included breakfast was great. Food was great, quick and lots of options. Transportation Woes One of the biggest frustrations was the hotel’s policy against allowing Ubers onto the property. This left us feeling stranded unless we agreed to pay their inflated transportation fees. For example, a ride from Puerto Morelos back to the hotel cost only $15 via Uber, but the bellman quoted us $60. This lack of fair options was disappointing and left a sour impression. We recommend downloading Didi and picking the taxi option in the app. That will provide you with fair rates. Do not use the bellman, as they will provide you with an unfair rate. Service Inconsistencies The service was hit-or-miss, often frustrating. We had to remind staff multiple times about requests—such as dinner reservations, a haircut appointment, hot sauce, or even napkins—only to have them forgotten more often than not. Simple inquiries, like asking the pool staff about the best day to paddleboard, went unanswered. It became exhausting to follow up constantly. The front desk staff, in particular, lacked warmth and consistency. When we requested a late check-out, one person immediately denied us, claiming maximum capacity without checking. The next morning, another staff member was happy to accommodate us. The hotel itself seemed quiet and far from full, which made the initial response even more concerning. It aligns with other travelers experience on late check out. Highlights and Housekeeping Despite these issues, the housekeeping team stood out. They went above and beyond to make our stay special, especially with our dog. Each evening, they arranged his toys in precious ways and left thoughtful notes. Their care and attention truly made us smile. Final Thoughts The Waldorf Astoria Cancun is undeniably gorgeous and perfect for travelers seeking a luxurious and dog-friendly environment. However, the lack of dining options, inflated transportation prices, and inconsistent service made it difficult to fully enjoy our stay. We recommend checking out the nearby Hilton All-Inclusive for a fun and great-value experience. We went there one evening, they are connected through the shared event space. Different vibe, but we had a great time. It was $60 pp for the all inclusive evening experience.

My husband and I loved our time at Waldorf Astoria Cancun! It's a beautiful resort. The rooms are tastefully modern while the pool areas are perfectly tropical. If you're looking for a party scene, this probably isn't the resort for you, but the hotel zone is a short car ride for those wanting lively evenings. The staff made this resort incredible! My husband and I typically stay at Four Seasons resorts, and they are top notch. The concierge and dining teams exceeded all of my expectations at WA. They were the correct balance of professional and personal. We were sad to say goodbye to the breakfast team at Chaya, and the concierge team gave us the best advice for dining off property, which we did twice during our 6 night stay. We ate at Punta Corcha in a small town just south of the hotel property, and we ate at Harry's in the hotel zone. I'd highly recommend both restaurants. My husband and I had breakfast every morning in Chaya at WA, and we loved it! The food was very good, but again, the staff makes breakfast special. I'm an extremely picky eater, and the team accommodated my preferences. I know I'm going to miss people's names on the team that served us so I beg for their apologies if I leave them out. However, Servando, Benjamin, Miguel, Javier, Daniel, Ivanna, and Laura made our mornings spectacular. They're the best team! Chaya's breakfast shouldn't be missed because you don't want to miss out on the most hospitable and warm team! Our first meal upon arriving was at J'ao where Daniel was our first server and Ivanna our first hostess. They left positive impressions from our first experiences at the resort. We ate lunch almost daily at J'ao, and we had the barbacoa tacos. They were delicious! Often, one of our breakfast servers would be working in J'ao at lunch, and of course, we loved seeing them. Every single server we had was fantastic whether they were part of the breakfast team or a fresh face! We ate 2 dinners at Chaya and 2 dinners at Malpeque. The service teams at both were excellent. Marco took great care of us at Malpeque, and Angello did so at Chaya. I always prefer filet mignon so Malpeque was my favorite dinner. With my picky preferences, Chaya's dinner menu isn't my favorite, but Angello found food I'd like that was delicious. Don't hesitate to ask the concierge team for help. They set up our transportation before our visit, and they helped us with dinner reservations and taxis throughout our stay. Each concierge was great, but we worked most with Bri and Raoul. Raoul was even kind enough to stop and visit with us while we waited for our taxi one evening, and we enjoyed getting to know him. Often, we forget about the behind the scenes staff, but the maid and room service staff was amazing. If we asked for water, it was delivered within minutes, and our room was always cleaned up in a timely manner. I love clean spaces so I appreciated this greatly! We can't wait to return! There are so many resorts and places I'd like to visit, but WA Cancun is a must!

Waldorf Cancun always surpasses our expectations. We come for a quiet getaway that is away from the craziness of Cancun. It is so peaceful and the food is amazing but the staff is what makes us come back. They are so kind and always try their best to make our stay super special. They go out of their way to do special things and always help with our Spanish. Alejandro and Jorge are so welcoming and professional. And Armando at the bar is super friendly and lively for drinks in the evening. And of course Jesus at the pool is always making our time memorable with his thoughtful gestures. First class resort!
