Reviews for Waldorf Astoria Cancun

Elegant resort. Perfect for husband and wife getaway.

One of the best resorts my wife and I have stayed at in 28 years of marriage. The suite was fantastic. The pools excellent. The pool chairs were extremely comfortable. Service top notch. Excellently equipped gym. The spa was classy, and the services five star. We especially liked our dining experiences at the restaurant Chaya.

Very Special, Relaxing, and Luxurious

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 21 hours ago

I want to give gratitude for our stay at this hotel. My favorite stay in Mexico after the One and Only Mandarina. This is a newer hotel and the architecture and design are stunning. It is designed for relaxation, and the staff made sure you did not worry about a thing. It was so peaceful here, and the scenery is gorgeous. Renting a car allowed us to venture out for dinner each night, but the food here for breakfast was phenomenal. I highly recommend it if you want a laid back vibe away from the party scenes of Cancun.

Very nice hotel. Attentive staff. Nice swimming pools, plenty of pool chairs and towels. Nice beach. The room is beautiful, bathrooms r beautiful, super clean, nice gym, very good food. They r very fast at bringing drinks and food by the pool and beach. It’s also very calm and not crowded. They take really good care of you here.

Relaxing Luxury

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Relaxing Luxury. We enjoyed our stay here immensely. Very relaxing and quiet for our entire visit, even on the busier weekend days when there were more children there were still plenty of chairs and quiet nooks by the pool to chill (we never experienced the dreaded fight for chairs). Rooms are very nice and the decor and design across the property are beautiful and luxurious, with an incredible attention to detail. Speaking of attention to detail, the staff was very attentive, hospitable, and friendly. We never felt an extensive wait for anything; from pool attendants, bartenders and waiters, to housekeeping and everything in between. Wonderful service. Everyone was great and Jesus Roque at the pool was particularly and amazingly attentive! The Spa was one of the best we’ve experienced from start to finish. The food and cocktails were consistently tasty and high quality at every restaurant and meal. The beach itself in this part of Cancun is narrow with seaweed but the pool chairs in between were lovely, so for us, that never really felt like an issue. Resort comparisons aren’t generally helpful, but perhaps readers may find this useful: We stayed at the St Regis Kanai (also beautiful but different) for a few days after and whilst the beach was better, and the rooms were slightly more posh (just slightly) - we enjoyed our experience much more at the WA Cancun hands down: vastly superior service, food, and in my opinion the luxury of the physical property comparisons are a toss-up. Comes down to things like this: my companion remarked that we did not hear one shaker at the St Regis pool bar and the margaritas were garnished with a lime wedge I could make at home. The Waldorf we heard a shaker sound with every margarita made, served with love and included a beautiful perfectly sliced dried lime. Well done Waldorf Astoria Cancun!!!

“Take It Easy” – A Tranquil Escape in the ‘Kingdom of the Seas’

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

From the moment my wife and I arrived at the Waldorf Astoria Cancun, we were captivated by its striking architecture and inviting design. It’s easy to see why the designer and staff refer to it as the “kingdom of the seas,” as every curve and detail of the property radiates luxury, seamlessly blending contemporary elegance with the natural beauty of the Caribbean coast. This meticulous craftsmanship extends throughout the resort, creating a sanctuary that immediately put us at ease. Adding to the idyllic ambiance is the staff’s genuine hospitality. Javier greeted us at our car like a long-lost family friend, instantly setting the tone for a memorable stay. Emilio provided an effortless check-in experience, showcasing impressive knowledge of the property while making us feel right at home. And every morning, we eagerly looked forward to breakfast thanks to Louis’s friendly smile and exceptional service. One of the true delights of staying at the Waldorf Astoria Cancun is its peaceful location outside the bustling hotel zone. If you don’t feel like hopping in a car, the property’s natural surroundings are all you need. Enjoy a leisurely stroll on the pristine, beautifully walkable beach, or wander through the on-site mangrove nature preserve where you might spot foxes, turkey vultures, and even monkeys on an amazing morning walk. This immersive experience perfectly complements the resort’s calming atmosphere. After countless vacations, my wife and I can honestly say this was the most relaxed and comfortable we’ve ever felt. The only minor downside? If you plan to cuddle on the balcony under the stars, be sure to pack some mosquito spray. Despite that small detail, the Waldorf Astoria Cancun truly earns its moniker as the “kingdom of the seas”—a luxurious oasis we can’t wait to revisit.
