Reviews for Garza Blanca Preserve Resort & Spa

Beautiful setting but...

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 hours ago

The location is beautiful, the servers Javier Erika and Oliver and those at the panoramic pool are amazing. The check in process is painful and we received a bill in our room for check out that said you could just accept and leave and they did not let our Uber come up to our room as they said we needed to formally check out. We took the hotel trolley with our luggage to the lobby and then the bellman would not let us get into our Uber without a "checkout card". The rooms are spacious but the furnishings are so dated. Switching out that dainty red kidney sofa for a comfy couch and losing the shiny pillows and throw for a some native Mexican organic fabrics would go far. The bathroom was beautiful and other than lacking a full length door to the commode area was up to date and clean. The linens were fluffy but we did not have a full set of towels upon check in and never received them despitw a request.Nespresso coffee and plentiful purified water were pluses. The view from our room was largely obstructed and we listened to the noise of the elevators and our fellow guests all night. The hotel is situated on a road and be prepared for loud truck and traffic noises. The gym though small for the size of the property (no floor space) was crowded yet the view was awesome and the equipment was in good shape.

Advertised Views vs Reality

I've been eagerly awaiting a return trip to Garza Blanca for two years, following an incredible experience at the Cabo location. This time, I was excited to explore PV, so I splurged on the two-bedroom panoramic suite, prioritizing ocean views. However, upon checking in today, I was disappointed to find that our patio overlooks trees and construction, with no ocean view in sight. Our highly anticipated trip feels tainted, and the promised luxury of a patio hot tub is overshadowed by the views of trees, a neighboring building under construction, and constant traffic noise. We are so incredibly disappointed. Dan and Theron Cooper

Be Aware!! - Garza Blanca

Had a horrible experience at the Garza Blanca PV. Get ready for this and I apologize in advance for jumping around but there is a lot to inform potential guests about: We visited the property from October 13th-21st, 2024: My nephew walked into their room to find 3 butlers searching it. He sat on the couch for 10 minutes listening to them go through their clothes in the bedroom and then after hearing them try to open their safe numerous times he called out and asked if they needed help. I have text messages from the butlers to prove this. And then one of the butlers, Renu, would not leave the hallway by my sisters room for over a half hour after she asked him to numerous times. I had to go up there and make him leave - that is harassment!!! I guess he is newer to the property but General manager Johnatton Diaz was very inconsiderate about the situation with the butlers searching rooms without guests being present or even knowing and did nothing about it and also would not provide me with a report for a wedding band that somehow went missing. Oh did i mention that our wedding band went missing from the room which is wild seeing that we had housekeepers and butlers doing whatever they wanted without management caring?? we actually had guests of our wedding block sleeping with dressers in front of their doors because of the Butlers breaking into rooms - Alejandro and Renu are two of the three butlers. I have text messages from them and have attached to this review to prove they entered the rooms without permission and even tried opening safes. We also had two housekeepers enter a room without knocking and when my nephew walked out of the bedroom they said they were delivering coffee but didnt have any coffee and then ran out (very strange seeing this happened at 7pm in the evening the same day our ring was "missing"). We did not get room turn down service on our wedding night because according to Karen our concierge, the housekeepers knocked on our door and because we didnt answer they wanted to give us privacy. (why knock if you want to give guests privacy?) and thanks for letting us come home to a messy room on our wedding night when we paid good money for good service. Another point that needs to be addressed is how we get a refund of the $4000 we paid to hold the block of rooms? I was told that it got applied to our rooms at check-in but when we checked in the receptionists told me that we had to pay for our rooms upfront since one of the parties of our group wasn't checking in until another day and now the lady who we booked and paid deposit through, is not answering emails. We stayed Sunday through Wednesday morning at their sister property Hotel Mousai and then moved down to the Garza Blanca for Wednesday through Monday and i can honestly say that it was night and day difference. Being at the Garza Blanca made our entire party of 18 rooms feel like we were on some Fantasy Island type TV show where the employees of the resort did whatever they wanted to do and it felt like management was involved. Very shady type business at the Garza from my first-hand experience. Sister property at same location Hotel Mousai i highly recommend - Bellhop Marco is fantastic, Concierge Alejandro would do anything for guests, and even the Head of Security of the Mousai called me personally when he heard of the situation which ironically I still haven't heard from the head of security at the Garza Blanca. I have emailed this to Tafer Resorts directly as well and at this moment am still awaiting any response from them.....

I wholeheartedly recommend Garza Blanca!

I loved my stay at Garza Blanca! I stayed in Tower 5 (what a great view from my balcony!) and spent lots of time at the Panoramic pool. The entire resort staff were excellent! Friendly and accommodating, almost as if they were personal friends, and with great professionalism. A big shout out to my most favorite waiter Rogelio Caudillo!! Thank you my friend, you are the best! While I did use the pool near the beach, and the beach itself, I found the vibe at the Panoramic pool to be more suited to my style. The pace was relaxing and music quite nice (both live music and recorded). The food and beverages served were top shelf. Be sure to ask Rogelio for his special Mescal cocktail, delicious!!! A super-awesome treat was the wood-fired red snapper and vegetables prepared as a special one afternoon. It easily served three people. If they offer this, order it! I used room service several evenings and found the selections to be more than adequate, something for everyone. The meals were sumptuous, the service excellent. Maid and turn-down service was non-intrusive and the room always clean and tidy. Trolley service to and from the main entrance were convenient and ran smoothly, every 15 minutes as stated. Cab service elsewhere is readily available and very affordable. I wholeheartedly recommend Garza Blanca!

Another Happy Return

This was our 5th vacation here and probably our best. While the check-in process is still cumbersome with the obligatory invitation to a free breakfast and briefing (sales itch), we were treated to the most gracious staff and friendly service in all of Mexico. The adventurous members of our group had plenty of options, from kayaking to hiking, while the rest of us lounged around the beautiful pool. We ate some meals on the property and others in town which is only a 15 min taxi ride away. The opportunity to go into town within a few minutes is one of the main attractions for us. Kudos to one special server at Bocados breakfast service, Gio Alan whose attentiveness, charm and humor made each meal more memorable.
