One&Only Mandarina

We had a wonderful 5 night vacation in early February. This was our first time staying at the One&Only Mandarina & it exceeded our expectations. This is not your normal 5* hotel. The concept is very different. Service was excellent (our butler Javier really made our stay even more relaxing). Food for the most part was good but pricey. No need to bring all your bling clothes or jewelry here, this is not that kind of hotel. It's very private and intimate. You really dont get to see the same people very often as there are so many places to relax & eat. This is definitely a hotel to go & recharge your batteries & have a romantic break. We had no issues with the buggy service & everyone was very attentive. Highly recommended.

The place does not have the wow effect the one and only usually have it disappointing from the beginning however, the worst part is those animals that are running everywhere. They look like a raccoon much bigger and they’re not friendly they jump on you. They bite your toes they jump in your food plates they jump on your Sunbathing beds. They’re jump in your private pool. They’re all over your suite they should be telling people more about these animals when I spoke to the front desk they told me sorry this is the jungle. I want the jungle. I will go somewhere with the real jungle exist out of disgusting animal that’s jumping everywhere. We didn’t even use the private pool one time because they were always there. I know they’re not friendly they bite. They are annoying and it’s so not relaxing to sit at the Pool side when you know they’re jumping everywhere. I must say the staff tried to kick them out, but they’re just way too many of them.

Absolutely breathtaking views, ambience and people. Every moment is carefully crafted to exceed expectations in every way. Strongly recommend.

This was our fourth visit to Mandarina, the only resort / property we've ever been repeat visitors to. The beauty of this place keeps drawing us back; it's the perfect break from our midwestern winters. The staff are all friendly and warm, without being pretentious. The hosts will go out of their way to help you with whatever you need-reservations, activities etc. No hotel is perfect, and when you spend this much on a place it's easy to have sky high expectations. I think it's better to focus on what's special and be forgiving about small mis-steps. One things to know is that food and drinks are expensive. You aren't just paying for the food or beverage, it's for everything that goes into running a place like this- expect resort prices. Save yourself from sticker shock at check out by reviewing your bill the night before you check out. It's in pesos so it's helpful to take your time checking for accuracy. Most of all, enjoy this paradise if you go, it's in a category of it's own!

This resort is spectacular. The setting in the midst of the jungle is spectacular. We had a deluxe panoramic ocean view Cliffside Villa, and it was wonderful. You need carts to get around to the various locations because of the size of the resort, but that was not a problem as they came very quickly. The restaurants are great and the beach and cabanas were wonderful. I highly recommend this resort and we will return
