I was at the hotel bar and was served by Luis Abreu and Arismendy at the pool bar. Both did a great job and were very friendly. We loved the aperol spritzes espresso martinis and the Presidente on tap. This is a great resort and they have a great team!

Overall we had a great time at royal beach. Non- preferred review- Pros- - Rooms are huge and spacious -Grounds are lovely including the beach - Lots of variety with food - Staff are great. Special shout out to Obispo and Sebastian at the blue pool dorado bar they were lovely and so entertaining. Also a special shout out to Claudette in the buffet restaurant she was great. - Mini fridge filled up most days for free - Provide robes, slippers, toiletries etc in the room free of charge - We didn’t pay for preferred and glad we didn’t we didn’t feel like we missed out at all Cons- - The only con for us would be the food! There was a lot of options however the food was a bit bland and my sister was gluten free and there were minimal options for her. We went with fussy eaters and they didn’t go hungry but for a 5 star hotel and what we paid we expected it to be nicer

We visited Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana over Christmas break as a family of seven. While the resort had its highlights, there were enough drawbacks that left our overall experience feeling average. The Good: The resort itself is lovely, with clean, well-appointed rooms, beautifully maintained grounds, and a nice beach and pool area. One of the highlights was our free rental of a beach structure – a two-tiered setup with chairs, beds, and umbrellas. The attendant was excellent and made the experience even better. We were under the Preferred Guest category, and our concierge, Martin, was a standout. He was incredibly helpful, kind, and always available to assist with our needs. The bartender at the Preferred Bar also deserves a special mention for his outstanding Amaretto Sours. The Italian restaurant and the Seaside Grill were favorites for breakfast and lunch, offering quality meals in lovely settings. The Circus Show was also enjoyable. The Not-So-Good: Unfortunately, the food overall was a major letdown. We’ve been to many all-inclusive resorts, and while we don’t expect gourmet dining, several meals were barely edible. The buffet was by far the worst. The Christmas Eve set menu at the Seaside Grill was especially disappointing, with none of the six courses meeting expectations. Service was a mixed bag. Some staff were outstanding – warm, friendly, and fun – while others were disengaged. Language barriers made communication more challenging compared to other resorts we’ve visited, and food and drink orders were incorrect about 40% of the time. Many drinks at the bars were poorly made, with flat mixers or inconsistent proportions. Other Challenges: Processes at the resort often felt unnecessarily complicated. Checking in involved multiple forms and switching between buildings. One of our rooms had a king bed instead of two queens as confirmed in our booking, and although the staff eventually offered a replacement, it was too late to move. While they did compensate us with the beach structure rental, it felt like an avoidable inconvenience. Even booking a spa appointment was cumbersome, requiring multiple trips between buildings and additional paperwork. Final Thoughts: While Dreams Royal Beach has its strengths – particularly the beautiful grounds, select staff members, and some dining options – the inconsistency in service, poor food quality, and overly complicated processes detracted from the experience. With some improvements, it could be a much more enjoyable destination.

As always I love this beach! It is a nice long beach to stroll on. The water is beautiful. The resort was neat and tidy. We loved the swim up bars and garden pool area! Food was average but that seems to be the standard in Punta Cana. We enjoyed hopping over to Secrets and enjoyed the shows, night club and casino!

Thus is a very small but beautiful resort. However, paying $6500 for a family of 4 for the all inclusive only to be told “you can’t use this… you can’t use that” because we are not preferred is rather ridiculous. Now for the restaurants… yes, there are quite a few BUT there are next to no options at the various (non buffet) restaurants. Going to the seafood restaurant to be shown a menu with crispy tuna, rice and seafood, salmon and a mixed surf and turf (not sure what the surf is just yet) is just not what I would expect from a Hyatt Resort and for this price. We can’t find pool chairs because there are hardly any for non- Preferred. As a non- preferred you should bring ear plugs because these rooms are close to the main stage where the music is so even a room not facing the stage is noisy. The staff we have met thus far are very nice. Hopefully the week will improve. My husband is not happy!
