We stayed this past weekend and we were very disappointed in the service at this resort. It did not live up to the Westin name. On our first night there we ate at the Arena beach club (we had reservations) once we were seated, it took them 20 minutes before someone even acknowledged us. We ordered a bottle of champagne but it wasn’t delivered until halfway through our entree. The food was also extremely disappointing at this restaurant. The following days while laying out by the pool and beach area it was extremely hard to get waited on. We constantly had to go up to the bar which took 20-30 minutes just to get a drink and then another 10-15 minutes for them to check us out. They really need a better system at this hotel. The resort is really pretty and the staff is nice but the service was just too slow.

I rarely leave a review… I’ll start by saying, this hotel is very pretty. However, the grounds are littered with trash, the service was abysmal, and the food was below average. Everyone was pleasant but when you’re paying what you do at this hotel you have high standards. Every single person I interacted with that was also staying at the hotel, right off the bat, had something to say about the service. That really says something. Drinks took ages. They were short staffed in their very expensive restaurants. I also wanted to pay for my breakfast one morning and bring it up to my room and they were very rude about it not being possible?? I can leave a positive review about Jonathan on the beach. He went out to his way to get me a drink since the Arena Bar was closed. Otherwise, meh, will be staying elsewhere if I come back to Punta Cana.

Good three night family stay with two little children in February. The beach here is wonderful, with warm, shallow water for swimming and plenty of beach chairs for all guests. We found a live queen conch in the water and saw a few fish. Pools are solid as well. Easy to get towels and sun tan lotion is offered for free, which is a nice amenity. Room was spacious, with a nice balcony that opened onto a patio, which we used. Bottom floor room useful with young children. We ate at the Arena beach restaurant four times. They have kids options. Food was excellent. Resort prices but not atrocious. We did uber from the airport which was cheap And cost under $10. Visited the Punta Cana village for dinner via taxi and got groceries from local supermarket. It was a holiday weekend so room prices were a bit higher than non-peak times. Service was solid. Staff were friendly and remembered my kids names and greeted them. .

This was our first visit to the DR so we really had no idea what to expect. Punta Cana is beautiful— not as crazily built up as many other resorts. The Westin is a fantastic value—we were shocked when we saw the prices for some of the all inclusive resorts. It’s close to the airport and they offer free shuttles anywhere you want to go. Our room was beautiful and we love that Westin bed. The outdoor pool— actually three pools— and private beach were NEVER crowded. We had our pick every day— guess everyone else was golfing! The beach is exquisite with warm blue shallow water and a few kite boarding pros showcasing their skills! We ate at the beach restaurant as well as The Bao —both wonderful. The daily brunch goes to 11 and I can’t think of what they don’t offer. We also ate at the nearby La Yola— gorgeous design by Oscar de La Renta who lived there for many years. The experienced staff at the Westin was wonderful— so kind and helpful. And there was never a used towel or empty glass or stray piece of trash anywhere . For sure we’re going back next with the whole family!
