Lizard Island is truly secluded from the rest of the world. With 40 luxurious suites, it is the most northern resort in tropical North Queensland and is located directly on the Great Barrier Reef. The Resort is part of a preserved National Park covering 1,013 hectares, Lizard Island Resort is accessible by private air charter from Cairns Airport that services direct flights to and from most major Australian airports. The island experience is like no other place on the Great Barrier Reef. Enjoy secluded picnics with your own private dinghy on one of the many beaches, dive the famous Cod Hole, learn to snorkel or take in one of the numerous natural bird, wildlife, turtle or historical guided tours - there is so much on offer. Lizard Island is also famous for its game fishing and ,exciting light tackle sport fishing and has several vessels for private fishing excursions. Outstanding experience at a beautiful resort. First class all around. The food was great, the dive masters were very experienced, and the island is beautiful. Pricey, but worth it. We dove with Hanna and Max ... they were both excellent. Hanna, in particular, is one of the best divemasters we've had

Trip of a lifetime to Paradise
This is paradise !!! Unbelievable views, superior service and food, wonderful amenities, and lots of water activities. Very relaxed atmosphere to do as little or as much as you want. I believe our group did it all, from hiking to water sports. Snorkeling and kayaking on the Great Barrier Reef is a definite bucket list item to check off.

Welcome to paradise
Words cannot describe the experience we lived here. We started to say wow before arriving and never stopped. We were pretty lucky, as hotel was at less than 50% capacity with probably 20 people on the entire island. Result: we had amazing beaches only for us. Landscape is wonderful and marine life unbelievable, both on earth and on the sea. Room was spacious and super comfortable, with daily refill of snacks, soft drinks and wine. Only minor flags on the restaurant, as service was good but too slow (we spent more than 1.5h for every meal!) and food quality not always as expected

Tropical paradise chill out
We booked 3 nights here as a treat during our travels in Aus. It’s a great place to stay and chill out. The food was excellent and the staff were incredibly helpful, with a special thanks to Brennan who helped sort out getting our vids from the GoPro (we saw turtles, stingrays, clams and too many types of fish to count) and Aveline who took photos of us even when she was off duty! We went on the sunset cruise which was excellent. We also went on a walk round the mangroves at sunset, but didn’t see any bats that night. The flight there from Hinterland was an experience as well, seeing the reef from above was an experience we’ll never forget

Lizard Island is not at all what it’s hyped up to be
Was extremely disappointed in room and view especially for the price. My view from room was the roof on the beach . I tried to change rooms and they would not accommodate. I’ve stayed at 9 other islands from Lizard Island all the way down to Lord Howe and they were all amazing. Kinda felt like I was on a desert 🌵 island.
