A beautiful resort in a lovely, quiet area outside the touristy vibe of Queenstown. The room had the vibe of a little cottage, and the grounds were amazing. The concierge staff are terrific and go out of their way to ensure you have all that you need. The on-site bike hire was so convenient.

We recently spent five days at this fine Resort for a family wedding. The accommodations were excellent, the grounds and surrounding area breathtaking and the service was superb. A short trip to Queenstown, this resort is the perfect place to relax, play golf, hike and enjoy the scenery of Otago.

I love Millbrook. We don’t ski anymore and visit it in summer and Easter. We had a delux suite upstairs for 5 nights looking over the golf course. Rooms are a bit tired now but comfortable and the view is gorgeous. We play golf so it’s a perfect place to stay.

Let's start with the good. The room was big, comfortable and clean and the grounds are lovely. However, while the facilities were 5 stars, the mentality wasn't. 1. Front desk - after spending 5 days in the area, I feel that I can give better advice on what to do and see. The hotel was really unhelpful. 2. General service A. Slow Internet B. They don't clean the rooms or make the beds, because this is somehow bad for the environment? Sounds to me like a way to save money C. The grounds are big and while walking isn't an issue, they offer to pick you up with a golf buggy. When I had suitcases I needed that, but it took so long for the buggy to come then I took the suitcase myself. D. They don't know opening hours of the facilities on their own grounds and sent me to buy a coffee at a shop that closed 30 minutes earlier 3. Breakfast A. At Breakfast I asked to change a poached egg to a boiled egg, but they said they refused to do that. B. They have a juice machine whereby guests can squeeze their own juice. However this is not practical because to make 1 glass of orange juice the guest would need to peel by hand 6 oranges. So again, a gimic rather than a genuine service. I was at breakfast for 30 minutes and no one made juice. Well done to the hotel, they saved money. C. For an espresso they charge extra. So bottom line, the grounds and rooms are nice, but the service mentality is not generous or helpful and not similar to the other 5 star hotels we stayed at. This place looks 5 star and charges a lot, but the service mentality is really not good.

Staying at Millbrook was the accommodation highlight of our South Island sojourn. It exceeded all expectations, and I feel for anywhere else we stay moving forward after falling so passionately in love with this property. We will be back.
