Relaxing Sanctuary in Queretaro

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Booked Hacienda Jurica as our intention was to visit San Miguel and spend time there for Dia de Muertos celebrations. It ended up working out for the best as we decided to go to Puerto Vallarta for a few days and come back to the hotel to finish off our vacation in Mexico. It was 40 minutes away from the airport and only an hour drive to San Miguel. Never really thought of Queretaro before this trip BUT this hotel made us appreciate the city that much more. We were forced to figure out things to do within the area (Centro Historico/Mercado La Cruz) as we didn't feel like going all the way to San Miguel for more than 2 days. What a lovely, peaceful city and this hotel is a hidden gem within Jurica-historical elements all around, beautifully preserved landscaping-great breakfast. The only pitfalls; the rooms need renovations, showers and sinks get clogged, little flies show up in the shower, lunch service (if you are too tired to venture off into the city) is really slow and leaves a lot to be desired. The staff do their best to make this property shine and it shows. Overall great choice if you are looking for a reasonably priced and pretty property for your stay in Queretaro.

Beautiful hotel with lots of opportunities to create an extraordinary experience

Beautiful hotel with lots of opportunities to create an extraordinary experience. Staff need much more training and focus on Customer Satisfaction, not only on "performing tasks". Friday dinner with friends was ok, but waiters were distracted preparing for next morning breakfast; the bar was closing at 11:30 while the sign said 2:00 AM on Fridays. Breakfast was delicious, but the process for assigning tables was too slow, even though they had some tables available. Two days before arrival I checked the rates for a couple of friends on the same dates and the price was around one-third of what I paid five months earlier, which is disappointing.

The front office / Reception staff was professional and helpful with changes to our travel schedule. Heliodoro Badilla Altamirano was excellent and ensured our family was taken care of. Thanks to the cleaning staff and the restaurant staff! Salute Dominic Saroni, Philadelphia

Beautiful place, nice rooms, good location. Restaurant service was really slow, they cannot manage too many guests at the same time. Some days we had to wait forever for just the drinks.

Beautiful property.

Incredibly nice hotel. Spacious and well appointed rooms. Very accommodating staff. More like a resort than a hotel. Highly recommend.
