Casa Gangotena proved to be the perfect home base for exploring Quito. Its location in the heart of the historic district is unbeatable, and the friendly staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The elegant ambiance, combined with excellent cuisine and impeccable service, truly elevated our stay.

This hotel is in a stunningly restored building and probably is one of the best places to stay in Quito. Staff are helpful and attentive. Our room faced the square, which was a lovely outlook. Just misses 5 stars based on room amenities - no fridge, no full length mirror and woeful aircon. But have no hesitation in recommending for a stay in Quito

The hotel is part of the Relais & Chateaux group. The group is known for having strict standards for a hotel to be part of the brand. Offering “exquisite” haute cuisine, as well as luxurious facilities. I booked through my Amex Platinum Fine Hotels offers and was upgraded from the Deluxe room, to a balcony junior suite. I truly enjoyed the balcony with a patio table to dine and/or sit. I actually worked out there! The room didn’t have a desk for my electronics so I had to use the ledge for electronics on the wall, and one side of the bed had an extension cord for me to plug into as well but not nearly enough space, hence using the ledge on the wall. With 2 people staying, there really needs to be the option of an extension cord on both sides of the bed since there is no desk. The bed was a little firm for my liking and the bedding could have been softer. But a beautiful room nonetheless. the bathroom was all marble and had a nice soaking tub and large separate shower, but only 1 sink with a small amount of sink space. The ledge above the sink was helpful and there was room under the sink for storage. A marble ledge under the stunning stained glass window was also a great place to store toiletry bags. I received a lovely plate of fruit with a nice note from hotel staff, welcoming me to the hotel. Ample closet space in the large entertainment center. Now the food, the breakfast buffet was wonderful and staff in the restaurant efficient. Room service food was less than sub-par and unremarkable. Do go to the rooftop for dinner, happy hour, snacks, and views! Absolutely stunning at night. The whole hotel is simply gorgeous! And worth the visit to Quito!

A beautifully maintained and renovated old hotel in a great position in the old town of Quito. The service was faultless but the price for an average sized room including breakfast was very expensive for accommodation in Quito. The breakfast was also very good.

Greeted by smiling faces and a warm welcome followed by a welcome drink. Check in was quick, easy and we were soon in our room. Wow what a comfortable bed and pillows. Water was always replaced every day and there are also water stations. There is a terrace on the top floor where you can see a lot of the old town, great place to drink a cocktail from the bar. We also found out about the quest to be carbon neutral ++. A 10 out of 10 for me :)
