Lovely resort but be cautious of food

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This resort looks beautiful, and the staff go above and beyond. However, my husband and I ate only at the resort for 2 days and both got extreme food poisoning, to the point that we missed our flight. Therefor I have concerns about the food safety here. We ordered very safe foods, like pasta and a well done hamburger.

R & R at the Avani Quy Nhon

Grab a respite from your travels or stay for longer. Great hotel - and overlooking a beautifully sandy, exclusive beach. Sunrise was amazing as were the hotel staff. Particular shout out to Giang and Mi who served us in the restaurant. 5 🌟’s out of 5!

A little piece of paradise

We loved our 3 day stay here, a fabulous view from our room of the beach, watching the fishing boats go about their work was just lovely. The hotel was quiet, which for us made our stay extra special. Our meals were delicious, breakfast had an extensive selection and the evening happy hour was fab, great Margaritas!! The staff were friendly and attentive, special thanks to Diem, Tai,Chi, Giang and finally Huy who took us to the market to select ingredients for our cookery class together. The lunch we prepared together was delicious and plentiful, so much so we had the remainders for dinner. An altogether lovely relaxing stay, would love to return one day and definitely at this time of year

Relaxing resort

We stayed at the Avani three nights under a half board package. The facilities and rooms are nice and beach at this and the sister resort next door were very quiet which was great. The winds and current were bad when we were there so we didn't swim in the ocean but the pool area was very nice. The gym is next door at the sister resort and is small but well equipped and spotless. The area is a bit out of Quy Nhon so a bit quieter but for a shorter stay like ours we didn't mind. The restaurant was very good. The breakfast buffet was as good as we've had anywhere in Vietnam with several made to order items. As noted in other reviews, for the half board option the resort should be more flexible with substitutes or change their menus more often. The food was very good but after three dinners we'd exhausted the Vietnamese menu. I would also highly recommend the spa. The massages my wife and I had were some of the best we've had anywhere in a long time including far more expensive resorts. Our room included a sixty minute massage but if we had stayed longer we would have paid for more massages. My only other recommendation would be that the resort pay a bit more attention to maintenance. Some areas are showing a little wear and tear. We had a leaky faucet in our room which we noted to staff and someone came to look at it but it still leaked. Overall though we enjoyed this resort and would return again.
