Magical Place

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

This place is magical! I went with a girlfriend for a spa weekend and got so much more: watching the sunset at Nelson's, kayaking from the Cove with guides who filled us in on the garibaldi fish, the dolphins + the lighthouse history, a day spent reading by the pool with custom cocktails, hiking along the cliff and watching dolphins (maybe a whale?). Of course, the best was the day we spent at the Spa where we went from hot tub to steam to sauna to the cafe to our facials and then started over! We stayed in one of the Casitas and there is nothing as speclia as waking up with the sound and smell of the ocean as you start your day. Trip of a lifetime!

Peaceful Getaway

My fiance and I enjoyed a relaxing weekend in the midst of moving. The Terranea team was exceptional in every regard, from cleanliness in the room to service in the restaurants. We are fortunate to have enjoyed it and greatly look forward to the next visit.

Kindest Staff & beautiful property

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Our stay at Terrenea was nothing short of incredible! From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with warmth and kindness, making us feel at home during a difficult time. We were displaced due to the fires in the Palisades and ended up staying here for a month. Not only did they offer us a fantastic rate, but they also provided us with a sense of comfort and stability when we needed it most. The hospitality at this hotel is unmatched. Every staff member went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, always greeting us with a smile and genuine care. Their kindness and attentiveness made all the difference, and we are truly grateful. The rooms were spotless, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable, providing a much-needed retreat. The hotel also had fantastic activities for kids, which was such a blessing for our family, keeping our little ones entertained and engaged. Additionally, they are pet-friendly, and they treated our dog with such care—it truly felt like a home away from home for all of us. We cannot thank Terrenea enough for their generosity and exceptional service during this challenging time. If you’re looking for a hotel that values its guests, offers top-notch hospitality, and genuinely cares, this is the place to stay. Highly recommended! Vanessa, Lauren, Corey, Rebecca, Isaac were all so wonderful to us to name a few of the amazing staff members who showed us so much care during our stay.

5 Star Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Beautiful location on Palos Verdes peninsula with plenty of outdoor activities including cliffside walk north to Pt. Vicente historic lighthouse and beyond, as well as kayaking from beach to east. There’s also a very large well equipped gym, and multiple pools, including a 25 yard lap pool. Hotel was built in 1990s on site of former Marineland of the Pacific. I arrived late at night and check in was seamless- helpful doormen and front desk staff. My Luggage Forward bag beat me by 2 days, I was jet lagged, and front desk staff said ‘hey we’ve got something for you!’ Our group was randomly assigned assortment of rooms ranging from casitas, to ocean views, to my lower-end room facing courtyard. It was fine. Plenty of space and sunlight, Keurig coffeemaker, working table, couch, mini-fridge. Housekeeping did a thorough job each morning and evening [don’t forget to tip the hardest working folks in any hotel :) Breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, for our board meeting were terrific and varied. We also had two great dinners at Nelson’s overlooking the Pacific. WiFi was fast and reliable- logged me in each time I returned. Early AM check-out also quick and easy. Bill was accurate. Doorman got me on my way.

Terrible…not Terranea

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Congested and overcrowded with non-hotel guests, ruined the entire experience. Limited hotel restaurants who couldn’t even accomodate hotel guests (Bashi) with no other non-hotel alternatives nearby. Catalina Kitchen staff slow to wait on our table. Room service breakfast would have taken 1.5 hours. Tried Catalina Kitchen again for breakfast, but time between order and when food was received was no better than room service timing. Breakfast came out at fractured times and overcooked. Restaurant staff seemed unhappy and pleasatries seemed forced. Competed a review via email and no response from the resort. Thanks for reaffirming my belief that great service is gone in America.

My husband and I returned from a two night stay and we fell in love with this special place. We will definitely go back again, and maybe even bring the kids next time. The service was terrific, the food amazing, and the spa fantastic!

My wife and I just returned from a 3-night stay at Terranea Resort. We bid and won the package on Luxury Link. The resort was spectacular and the service was second to none. From the moment we pulled our car up to the beautiful entrance we knew we were in for a treat. We arrived around noon and were a little concerned that we were too early to check in, but it was not a problem and we flew through the check-in. The view from our balcony was incredible. There was nothing between us and the blue Pacific Ocean. If we had to choose the best thing about the resort (which is hard to do), we would have to say the massages at the spa were the best we have ever had. This resort is all about service. The staff always had a smile on their faces and went out of their way to make sure you had everything you needed and you were having a good time. The resort is luxury without being pretentious. I don't have a single complaint or suggestion for improving my stay. Thanks for an incredible vacation.

My husband and I just returned from an absolutely fabulous weekend at Terranea. Our 2 night package from Luxury Link included a beautiful ocean view suite, fabulous massages and outstanding breakfasts. The grounds are amazing and we never even left the resort. On Friday and Saturday they have a jazz band that plays in the lobby that was world-class entertainment. Every one of their wonderful employees went out of their way to make our anniversary weekend special. I am so happy that I took the risk of bidding on my first Luxury Link package, as it exceeded all my expectations - and I got a fabulous deal! I will definitely use this site again!

We just returned from fantastic weekend birthday stay at Terranea in an ocean-view suite. Service was top-notch and the grounds are terrific. We watched the sun set into the ocean both nights. They even have a falconer that brings his birds out on a golf cart to deter sea gulls, including an enormous Northern European owl with orange eyes. There were great spa treatments and excellent restaurants, including the stand-out Mar'sel. We will be back.

My wife and I just stayed at the resort for 3 nights and it was fabulous. We received extraordinary service! Our meals, the room and the grounds are well worth the price we paid. We will go again and again. We can't say enough about the whole time we spent there.

When my husband and I booked our Terranea package, it seemed too good to be true. Connecting ocean view rooms, 2 massages, breakfast and parking included on a popular August weekend for $1,000? Turns out it was better than anything we could have imagined. The rooms are absolutely 5-star, and the property is breathtaking. The best part, however, was the staff - who really went out of their way to accommodate our every request. At the end of the weekend, the kids were well rested, we were well rested and we couldn't believe we never knew about this resort which is only 2 hours from San Diego. Fantastic. Perfect. Thank You.
