Terranea Resort

I stayed two nights as a family reuinon with my son Brain during thanksgiving. I flew from bay area to see my son, Terranea was a hidden gem in LA. View was spectacula, food was amazing. Most of all, hospitality from all staff members were really memorable. Special thanks to Steven at beach view french reataurant who made our dinner really shine. We were well treated and served. Will definetely come again. It was like a 5 star Mexican resort hotel.

I have stayed at this resort before on business and d cider to Rent a Casita for my family and I to enjoy sometime prior to Thanksgiving… The staff are super friendly and the property is super beautiful! However, the Catalina restaurant and the rooms are not close to 5 star quality and likely 2-3 star at best. The rooms had many items not functioning correctly along with small items like empty soap in the showers which detracted from a short stay. The “app” check in and communication is a joke… keeps texting me after I checked into the property reminding me of my upcoming visit. The concierge couldn’t book me a reservation since no one at the restaurant property answered the phone, told me they would text me after taking my $20 tip but never texted me…The Catalina restaurant has friendly servers but the kitchen struggles to get the food ordered out to the tables despite the restaurant being empty. The restaurant brochure sais lunch starts at 11 but it’s actually 11:30… management needs to visit this property as a consumer to see all these issues that add up to a poor review and hopefully get this beautiful property to a 5 star resort.

I surprised my wife with a trip to Terranea Resort for our honeymoon. Upon our arrival, we were absolutely stunned. The resort was very beautiful and it had such a luxurious feel we had never experienced. We approached the staff at the front to get checked in, and they were absolutely fantastic. They were very welcoming and thoughtful about our stay. Once they had known it was our honeymoon they accommodated us and made our special occasion very memorable. We had gotten the king guest room down in the bungalow closest to the spa resort. As my wife and I were walking to our room, we were blown away by how amazing the resort was. We felt like we were in a different country with the architect and design of everything surrounding. The room we had received was perfect for my wife and I. We wanted stunning views of the ocean, and that's what we got. After getting settled in, we explored the resort and went for dinner. We enjoyed all the restaurants on the resort throughout or 3 night stay, all of the staff was amazing, they treated us very well and we did not have any negative encounters. My wife and I also had a spa day, and we were amazed with the service, It was absolutely relaxing, and the spa had stellar views of the ocean. The spa had many accommodations for guests as well. To summarize, my wife and I give Terranea a resort a 5/5, and we plan on returning every year for our anniversary and other special occasions. We have already ranted and raved to our friends and family about the resort, and they were very impressed after showing them pictures and telling them about the service we received. Thank you to all the staff at Terranea for going above and beyond for my wife and I. We will be back in the near future.

We have lived just a few miles away from Terranea for years and I can't believe we only just recently stayed there for the first time. My husband, dog and I stayed in a villa overlooking the ocean and beautiful hiking paths and we are already so excited to go back some day. We spent the morning walking the dog-friendly paths along the ocean, hiked down to the beach and ended the morning with a coffee and breakfast at Nelson's at the resort. We explored the beaches during the day and played fetch with our dog on the grass, followed by an AMAZING dinner at one of the restaurant's at the resort called Bashi. The service was top notch and we were so well-taken care of by the staff. A+ customer service and experience!

I brought my husband to Terranea for a weekend birthday surprise. It was such a lovely stay. Our room had a sweeping ocean view and a small balcony and, to our surprise, we had a sunrise view. This was fine, as we were out enjoying the sunset at dinner the first night at Mar'sel, where we were seated at an amazing table outdoors right at the edge of the patio with a spectacular sunset view of the ocean and then a gorgeous night view with all the sparkling lights along the coastal hills. The food was great. On Saturday, we did the tide pool kayak tour and had the most amazing weather. Calm water and sunny warm temperatures in November! It felt much warmer than where we live in Los Angeles, which was a surprise to me as I was expecting it to be cooler by the ocean. We got treated with a pack of dolphins gamboling by us just after we got into our kayak and did an easy paddle (perhaps 45 min?) to a tidepool area where we got out and explored the sea life hiding in the crevices. The water shoes they provided as part of the tour were quite helpful. After getting back, we managed to catch the falconer show his owl, soak in the hot tub, have lunch at Nelson's, hike up the coast and back, and then have dinner at Bashi, where we had another lovely table on the patio. The next day we went for a great run and ate at Nelson's for breakfast before sadly departing this beautiful spot.
