Perched on a lush private peninsula on King Harbor in Redondo Beach, California, The Portofino Hotel & Yacht Club is an idyllic combination of sun and surf â€" one of the few truly oceanfront hotels in the Los Angeles area with waterfront views of the Pacific Ocean and picturesque King Harbor. Ocean breezes wash through the casually elegant decor of each guest room, creating a crisp and clean character, with hues of blue, yellow and white, fine linens, and sleek bathrooms adding just the right touch of luxury. Enjoy the view from your private balcony or move closer with a deck chair by the oceanfront pool and whirlpool. Full service fitness and business centers keep you in shape and in touch, while the whimsical setting of BALEEN Restaurant adds the final feather in Portofinoâ€(TM)s cap.

Such a great experience overall , Shawnta’ made my first time feel so amazing. She helped me get checked in so fast and easy and was able to answer all my questions. We recently spent a week at this beautiful hotel. The seaside location, first of all, is fantastic! Our balcony looked over the water where we all enjoyed watching the paddle boarders, and sailboats, and also being entertained by the sea lions nearby! My toddler granddaughter even started to imitate the sea lions and the seagulls outside our room… adorable! Everyone from Nigel, the valet, to front desk to housekeeping went out of their way to make our stay so nice! Baleen restaurant was very convenient and the food was delicious. We ate all of our breakfasts there, and they even remembered our specific coffee orders each day - thanks Hannah! We can’t wait to come back again! Kudos to the Portofino Hotel staff!

Loved it. The location is great. Staff was friendly. We booked a package through Costco which included parking, resort fees, and breakfast. Choose ocean side for fabulous views and quiet moments with nearby sea life. The food at Baleen is really good.

The guest room facing the ocean was stellar - it was compact and luxurious and felt like a stateroom on an ocean going vessel. Fluffy towels and crisp white bedding completed the vibe. The common spaces were spacious and lovely, and availability of rentable kayaks and paddleboards a nice bonus.

One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had! My family took a quick trip for my birthday weekend and the hotel made it so much more special than I could have imagined! When we first arrived, Gregory greeted us and was extremely friendly. We had a very personable conversation, which I don’t normally experience at hotels, and was followed up with giving us great information and complementary drink tickets. Our room was beautiful! Not only did it overlook the ocean, but had a wonderful balcony with table and chairs for us to watch the sunset at. They had set up a fun birthday surprise and note for me in the room to start my weekend off in a great way! During the entire stay they were extremely attentive, yet not over the top where we felt bothered. Although the room was set up perfectly so we didn’t need too much, when we did ask for something they were extremely quick and friendly. The bed was very big and comfy and the bathroom was amazing! They provide great amenities in the room for showers, etc. Lastly, the espresso bar downstairs was a huge plus with a windowed wall to let in natural light and see the beautiful view while enjoying my delicious latte and muffin! I will definitely be staying here while visiting the area in the future.
