While a little bit of a splurge for us (not too bad), this was worth every penny. The room was enormous and thoughtfully furnished, right down to the tv in the bathroom mirror which can be viewed from the soaking tub!! The breakfasts were wonderful, the bar was so friendly to two senior women ("Welcome back!") and every staff member with whom we interacted was genuinely friendly and helpful. I am sorry that I don't have everyone's names; but Grayson and William at the Concierge Desk were patient and charming; and Scott, our shuttle driver, took good care of us and was diligent in making sure he took us to the best possible location for our river cruise. I cannot wait to return here: an elegant and friendly and service-minded hotel.

Stayed here for a quick pre-weekend getaway and wasn't disappointed. From the moment we arrived to the moment we departed we felt well cared for. The hotel is spectacular, the pictures don't really do it justice. Our room was large and filled with the kinds of luxury amenities one would expect from a hotel of this caliber. We also ate dinner the first night at Lemaire and enjoyed it. Overall we enjoyed our time at The Jefferson but unfortunately couldn't stay beyond two nights. We hope to return.

Opened in 1895, the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Virginia, exudes timeless elegance and classic Southern charm. Upon entering, I was greeted by an opulent lobby, a prelude to the indulgence awaiting upstairs. My room was a sanctuary of comfort-spacious, tastefully decorated, and equipped with ample storage, perfect for a leisurely stay. Every corner of the hotel told a story, from the grand staircase to the intricately designed ceilings, a blend of historical grandeur and modern luxury. Dining at the Jefferson Hotel's restaurant was a delightful experience. Room service was quick and food was very satisfactory. The service was impeccable; every request was met with prompt and courteous attention, making me feel like a valued guest. However, the hotel's secluded location means it's a bit of a trek to the nearest shops or supermarkets. While the tranquil setting contributes to its allure, it might be a tad inconvenient for those who enjoy having amenities close by.

The Jefferson Hotel far exceeded our expectations. We stayed in a Grand Premier King room. It was spacious, extremely clean, and beautifully furnished. The attention to detail was incredible, from the television inserted into the bathroom mirror to the lighted makeup mirror attached to the bathroom wall. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel was extremely quiet and restful. However, our favorite part of our visit was their exceptional staff. The sense of pride and ownership was evident from the moment we arrived. We received a hearty greeting from Clive upon arrival. William, the day concierge was a wealth of information about the city. His knowledge of the history and love of Richmond was apparent. We were able to visit many landmarks guided by his expertise. Joe, the night concierge also provided excellent information and customer service. The hotel provides a shuttle service that transported us to places of interest during our 3 day stay. Jack, a student at VCU was our main shuttle driver during our stay. His polite, professional manner was a welcome change from the lack of customer service we’ve experienced in general lately. He had many good recommendations for restaurants to try and different options of places to visit. Last but not least was the lovely Jeanita. Jeanita told us she had been an employee of The Jefferson for 38 years! She was wonderful and so willing to accommodate our every request. Jeanita even drove the shuttle one day as it was a holiday weekend and they were short a driver. It was apparent Jeanita is the kind of employee who steps in when needed and is willing to do anything to make the customer experience a great one. We can’t emphasize how wonderful this hotel and its staff are. You just must come experience it and the lovely city of Richmond for yourself! Ann and Ken Miller

The bedroom was amazing and the staff was very friendly and helpful. As we were sitting waiting, one of the staff brought us a bottle of water which has never happened in some of the nicer hotels we've stayed in. We received an upgrade on our room and our view of Richmond was lovely and there were so many exceptional things that were done to make our stay there memorable. The hotel is close to everything downtown and beautifully situated. We were not there long enough to really take in all the history of thie hotel, the building and all of the special rooms that are available.
