The entire staff at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve was wonderful! Gregory in the Market was incredibly kind and hospitable! The hotel team was so wonderful and made us feel at home. We hope we can return to this beautiful resort very soon! Thank you!

Some good, some bad

This resort is pretty secluded and at least a couple miles to the closest town, so you really need a car if staying here. It's a huge resort which is very spread out. They do have shuttles that come by every so often to take you to pools, lobby, dining etc. There are stops outside of most of the buildings, which included ice and water machines (a savior in the heat and one of my favorite things about the resort...be sure to bring your own water bottle). There were several pools around the property so you never have to go very far. The main pool is large and lively, with a swim up bar. Much quieter at the other pools. This resort seemed to be a lot of locals on vacation, so it seemed to cater to that. The pool food menu was very local food, as was the music...Latin 90% of the time. It would've been nice to have a little change up of music occasionally. We only heard some beachy music once during the week. We were very frustrated with the dining options. You needed reservations in the 3 main restaurants, even though it was May and not high season. The website makes it seem like there are many more dining options than there were. I think a couple of the restaurants were closed. The 4th option had a very limited menu. The only choice for breakfast is the buffet, which was expansive and very good for about $28/pp. The lobby bar is another option, but limited to pizza and salads. There is also an automatic service charge put on all restaurant/bar bills, but most of the service was mediocre. A couple exceptions were Angel at the pool who couldn't be nicer (and we were ignored by servers most days at the pool) and Richard & Ian in the Martini bar...both phenomenal mixologists. One of our best meals was at the Martini bar. You can order from either menu (steakhouse or sushi) and our sushi was fabulous! The rooms were extremely spacious with very comfy beds, but lacking on storage and hooks. Large bathrooms also. We loved the beach, very pretty with palm trees and packed sand on most, so easy to walk. There seemed to be plenty of beach chairs and even hammocks spread around the property. We loved the peace and serenity of this property.

I just returned from a Trip to Puerto Rico and had the chance to stay at this property the grounds are beautiful the staff was all very helpful and respectful but I would like to especially thank two individuals for making my stay that much better. Thank you to Wilbert at the market cafe for your wonderful recommendations and for always being so cheerful and happy. I would also like to thank Gabriel the bell man for his amazing recommendations and for going above above and beyond for us.
