We stayed at the Hotel de la Ville in Rome, back in November 2024. We had an amazing experience. From checking in, our car service, dinner and drinks and the overall service was exceptional. We were walking distance to everything we wanted to see and enjoy. The Cielo - the rooftop was divine with beautiful views and excellent service. Food and wine were delish. Our room was very comfortable and spacious, we were upgraded upon arrival which was wonderful. The bathrobes were amazing and I wish I would have purchased one before leaving. We had dinner at Cafe Ginori one evening and had an amazing experience. The food / wine was superb, let alone the service. I would gladly stay again in the future. Thank you

A wonderfully warm hotel that feels like coming home. The hotel itself is beautiful - in a fabulous location with some great dining options in the hotel. The breakfast is truly special with a stunning buffet and some wonderful hot options from the kitchen. Cielo has incredible views of the city and a fabulous cocktail and drinks menu. Cafe Ginori is set up beautifully. The team are really what makes this hotel so special - everyone is truly warm and passionate about what they do. Some special mentions to Giuliano at breakfast who will bring you Roman specialities to try and always greets you with a warm welcome back. Mirko, Christian and Andrea at Concierge who not only recommended and booked some fabulous restaurants but also arranged some tricky travel for us. Simone, Valerio and the team up at Cielo Bar who made some excellent cocktails and created a great atmosphere. Cyntia and Front Office Team who welcomed us so wonderfully to the hotel and showed us to our rooms. The Housekeeping team serviced the room perfectly and always seemed to know when you were out so they could go in and prepare everything for you.

The stay was perfect in every respect. The breakfast was excellent and service for that was perfect. The concierge desk was extraordinarily knowledgeable and friendly. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is remarkable. We will always stay here when we are in Rome.

Our favorite city in Italy after Venice, then Florence and Naples. Our second best stay with Venice. We have to say that Francesco, a captain/head waited was our favorite hospitality staff. His professionality, his knowledge and his smile, made him the perfect, most enjoyable waitstaff ever in Italy. We immensely, enjoyed the food at Mosaic and at the rooftop! Great staff up there; tastiest Old Fashion! yes expensive but oh, so good. My husband had a Cape Cod well served. The appetizers we had, note : the baguette with the cheese, so perfect as well as other appetizer. Diner at the Mosaic was superb and the service excellent! Breakfast was served at the Mosaic restaurant; it was a gorgeous buffet! totally amazed by the honey, so fresh coming out of a piece of beehive! eggs had to be ordered and the eggs carbonara were sublime. Not too much guanciale to not over salt the dish! Just perfect! love to have cheese at breakfast, so good. And the service, yes Francesco was there too and you can see that this guy is hospitality personification. The not so much liked points; at check in we were asked to fill up our information on the Ipad just after handing our passports. Nobody asked that anymore at 5 star hotel, but it was my husband's birthday... so I filled up the info and then she asked us at what time we would be checking out (we were staying 5 nights and late check out was a perk) So I answered that I wasn't sure, to be nice, and she was waiting for an answer still and then my husband said that she should make it a late checkout regardless and if we were leaving earlier, we will let them know... The other point was about our upgraded room which was gorgeous! Incredible comfortable bed, what we love, soft and not so soft pillow, what we love. The 1st 3 days, we thought that the housekeeping crew were moving furniture in the room below us. It wasn't bad, what was bad were the last 2 days, So much noise, I thought they were doing some repairs... My husband find out that the noise came from the gym. Some ,,,, decide to drop heavy weights on the floor. No we did not complain, it was the last 2 days and well, we just got up, enjoyed our breakfast and out to discover Rome. But beware when booking; make sure you are not above or to close to the gym. Regardless of those 2 itches, our stay at Rocco Forte was fabulous, all the staff, from doormen, reservation and front desk to waitstaff and housekeeping were great. By the way, I messed up a bit when ordering the euros; it is very important to have a lot of small bills in Italy for the tipping. In Rome it is not bad as they can add the tips on the credit card, but not so much in Venice or Florence but not at all in Naples. At Rocco Forte, it was great that they could change our dollars, which was very much appreciated. Totally forgot my bank card...
